I was able to answer one of my two questions about the R2 at the Venice event yesterday. I confirmed that the R2 has a soft close frunk lid but the person I spoke to could not say whether a Dynamic Roof was available. It did not look like any of the R2’s there had a electrochromic shaded roof.
To me the soft close frunk provides 90% of what a fully powered frunk lid would. It pops open and the gas struts lift the lid up hands free. Closing it requires you lower it down manually but you do not need to push down on it to close it.
Day to day I have rarely used the frunks on our Teslas because closing it requires a careful, 2 handed push.
