  1. R1S loaner won’t go over 80 mph, shows “80 mph max” on screen.

I know, right? One thing you learn right away if you spend any time at all driving in Germany is that the left lane is for passing. I mean, that's true here too, but very few people follow that rule. In Germany, it's a different story though. You really just move into the left lane to pass and...
  2. R1S loaner won’t go over 80 mph, shows “80 mph max” on screen.

True, but you seem to be inferring that exceeding 80 mph is somehow abusive to the vehicle. Is it though?
  3. [Resolved] What exactly does “tocking” sound like?

So no Gen 2 vehicles so far have had the issue?
  4. Connect+ is Here

And this is why Rivian will never offer CP/AA. Instead, they choose to have their customers pay for essentially the same type of functionality.
  5. R1S loaner won’t go over 80 mph, shows “80 mph max” on screen.

Well, it wasn't from a standing start. It was a rental car that I had in Germany. I was on one of the Autobahns where the speed was unrestricted and I couldn't get the thing to go over 116 mph, but there's no doubt in my mind that it would have if it didn't have a governor on it. 116 mph is 186...
  6. R1S loaner won’t go over 80 mph, shows “80 mph max” on screen.

The Nissan Rogue is governed to 116 mph. Don't ask me how I know.....lol Rental cars are fun.
  7. What is the Value Floor for used R1T and R1S Vehicles - Quad Meridian <300,000 miles <20 years

That's apples and oranges. Many old ICE vehicles (at least enthusiast vehicles) sell now for far more than they sold new. But there's a really good reason for that.
  8. What is the Value Floor for used R1T and R1S Vehicles - Quad Meridian <300,000 miles <20 years

I think the R1T/R1S will depreciate more than "normal vehicles" But I also think that's true of all EVs sold today. This technology is going to continue to improve, which is going to make early generations lose an incredible amount of value as time passes. The only reason I didn't chose $0 is...
  9. Poor build quality for Gen2 R1S vs Gen1 & subsequent buyer's remorse

How do you know that it's "more robust" than the original design? Just an assumption based upon tow ratings? That's not really very telling unless you know the difference in the suspension components, which may not be different at all. My guess is that the suspension tuning is the main...
  10. Poor build quality for Gen2 R1S vs Gen1 & subsequent buyer's remorse

Is that the case, though? Do buyers not have the ability to inspect their vehicle before completing the purchase transaction? I'm pretty sure that the laws in most states, if not all, don't consider a new vehicle purchase binding until the purchaser actually takes delivery of the vehicle. I...
  11. AWD versus 4WD... now it gets serious... (National Park Service offers free fines for AWD using 4WD trails)

Conventionally, 4wd has a low range transfer case.....AWD does not. That's usually how you'd define the different systems.
  12. Problems with Dynamic Glass Roof R1S?

Makes me wonder just how many people were opting to return their vehicles within that 7 day window. Must be a significant amount if they terminated the policy.
  13. So many legacy auto manufacturers walking back plans to electrify. Good or bad for Rivian?

As much as I'd like to eventually get myself an R1S, I'm still struggling with the same things as your wife since I also have a Grand Cherokee that does more than 500 miles before needing fuel and has a lot more features that I don't want to give up if I buy a Rivian. That's really the big...
  14. Total piece of JUNK. Leased exactly one month ago. Within a day started AC that will not work. Towed and took 1 week to repair.

Different strokes, different folks. Not everyone vents frustrations in the same way. We're all very different people....
  15. Lucid Gravity vs R1S

The styling of that Lucid is nice in a jelly bean sort of way. But honestly, I prefer trucks and SUVs to be more boxy and cars to be more aero-inspired styling.
