Honestly, I'm surprised we don't have one. I'm close to Knoxville, which isn't a huge city, but we have a ton of Rivian Amazon vans.
I received the dreaded 12 battery notification today. I had to call to request mobile service, and the guy I spoke to said a Knoxville (I live about 25 min north of downtown Knoxville) is coming very soon. Didn't seem like a sales pitch/bologna to me, FWIW.

My 12v battery appointment is scheduled for 2 weeks from tomorrow, fyi. (mobile)

I just spoke with service myself and didn't hear anything about it, which is odd because I was really hesitant to take it down to SC again for this sensor issue. You'd think I'd be the sort of person they wanted to mention this to. If I knew a Knoxville center was going to open in a couple of months, I'd just hold off on the repair.

The problem is I have to make sure my trade is done before I run out of warranty. This is my road trip car, and I put a lot of miles on it and have a few trips coming up. So I want to make sure I can get out of it while it still has some value, since it depreciates really fast. The next big hit is when it's out of factory warranty.

Service told me that I had to be within the 36k miles when the battery is replaced or they won't cover it, despite me telling them and making an appointment before the 36k miles that doesn't sound right.

Then they told me to empty my backseat, confused I googled it. Gen 2 has battery under the back seat, interesting, how did the storage and subwoofer still fit?

I have a gen1 I'm not emptying my back seat

The Gen 2 12v battery is under the front passenger seat, not the rear seat.

So Rivian wants to charge me $825 to change my 12V batteries. This is ridiculous.

They aren't supposed to charge labor on those anymore.

Read warranty policy relevant to your model year. Warranty on original 12V is 3 yrs/36k miles. 2 yrs on subsequent replacements.

Gen2 12V is under front passenger seat. This info is in your Owner Guide. If they told you to clear rear seat, it’s because they will tilt the front passenger seat rearward to access the 12V. If you have a child seat in the back, they won’t be able to tilt the front seat without removal and the liability that goes with it.

Yes 3yrs / 36k It's just odd that they would say I had to bring it in below 36k if the issue is reported at 30k. If it takes them 3 months to get me an appointment which is what they said originally that's their problem not mine is all.

I asked explicitly how others got either one of the batteries comp’d or labor waived. They said no to me.
So weird. I was told specifically that it is their policy. I didn't ask for a discount at all.

I got my warning last week and they replaced it yesterday via mobile service. I know it's different for everyone, but sharing my experience.

They charged $550 for two(yes two) batteries after applying a $250 discount. Idk why they gave me a discount and I didn't question it. I was busy working while the technician replaced, so didn't get to chat much.

Yeah, they aren't supposed to be charging labor for the replacement anymore, which runs ~$250.

Yeah, that’s what I expected. But they didn’t budge. So I walked out, and now exploring getting the sodium ion batteries.

It shouldn’t take 3 months to get an appointment. These days it should take a couple weeks at most. And 12V replacement can be done within 1 hour, at SC or by mobile tech. They tell you to bring it in “below 36k” because if you’d be out of warranty once past 36k.

I asked them to sell me the batteries without install at first. The chat bot said no and asked me to schedule appointment , which I did. I am not sure it had anything to do with the discount.
