1up rack fitment on bed crossbars

You can convert the Roof Racks to Hitch Racks, but not the other way around, unfortunately. Different mounting system underneath. For the Rivian Bed Rails, you want this: https://www.1up-usa.com/product/roof-rack/ and choose the "flush mount" option.

What nut would fit in the crossbar track? I’m looking at creating a solid platform to mount a cooler or strap cases to. I saw someone mention a carriage bolt but was hoping for a t-slot nut option.

Seems if you buy the hitch rack one of the trays is fixed and can not be removed.

I bought the Equip D Hitch Rack and converted the trays so they could also be used on the Rivian Cross Bars. I did a separate thread on this Forum about it. It gives you the option to have both Hitch Munt and Rail Mount with the better (IMHO) Equip D .

What makes you think Equip D are better than the just normal roof ones?

I use a tailgate pad so I can get in and out of my garage with the bike on. Works great. There's lots of solutions.

Curious with the width/thickness of the tailgate - does a tailgate pad work fine for a couple of 29'ers? It almost looks like it would put pressure on the bike frame headtube/downtube joint with the width of the tailgate. BUt I have not seen a tailgate mounted MTB on a R1T in person yet. Curious your feedback on this...

I have used a rug on the back of a rental pickup as a tailgate pad and the bikes fit a lot better but I don't have any problems with 29ers on the R1T.

I use a simple tailgate pad on the R1T to carry my heavy e-bike around. It has worked fine to date but, I was just in a very minor fender bender and the tailgate folded like a ‘cheap deck of cards’ and you can’t pop aluminum out like you can sheet metal so…. I’m more careful with putting pressure back there.

I was able to slide my tent over enough to fit a 1up on the crossbars too. I didn't tighten it down at all. Really only slid the tent over to improve access to the fridge I have in the bed.

Curious which Tepui tent that is band how the tent plus bike setup worked out.

Thanks! That helps give a general visual and dimensions to compare with. I can see how the pedal could cause damage, especially with most modern studded shin destroyers.

I'm case I missed it and it's helpful, another bike/fit reference below. I spaced things for this bike first, I haven't tested my 2022 RM Blizzard yet, so might still get moved further back to keep the fatty tire from touching the truck (carbide studs tear things up).
