Rivian's better than the Hummer for what I want a daily driver for. Looking into selling it in the next couple days. If I couldn't sell it for over MSRP, there might be a different outcome. Polestar 2 (not pictured) rides nicer than either of the trucks. It's broken in, so more comfortable than the Rivian. If it had more range, higher towing capacity, and better storage, I might not have even bought the Rivian. Rivian is the fastest of the three. Hard to qualify it totally yet but it might handle just as well as the Polestar 2. Hummer is dramatically different because of that.
Yeah, the polestar 2 really blew me away, the 3 can’t be unveiled soon enough.

Polestar vs R1T? That’s like me comparing the Model S to the R1T, completely different beasts. I guess if the Model S was a pick-up I might like it better ?

The polestar 3 is a cayenne/xc90 sized suv.

I personally won't understand the "they aren't in the same class" sentiment. I had a Bolt EV and the vehicle I got after it actually went back to GM was the Hummer EV. My primary use for any vehicle is to get my ass to work 5 days a week. Any vehicle fits that bill.

We should start a Bikes of Rivian thread!
Do it!

Ripley LS 29er Large with 140 fork and 68 degree head tube angle is 75ā€ from front to back tire measured at hub height. 1up may still work on the R1T crossbars but would definitely cantilever over rear tailgate a bit.

+2 on disliking the need for hitch extender for hitch rack.

Just got my crossbars in today. They seem a touch loose, will have to look into how to get them on here tighter, but I threw a 1up rack on top of the bed to get a photo with my longest bike, so everyone can see how it fits. It's not terrible but I think I will end up modifying the rack so the front can't open too far.

Now we just need some dry weather so I can go ride!
Damn seeing that bike hang over the back makes you realize how short that bed really is.

It's a pretty long bike, but yeah, bed is pretty short. Trying to decide what I want to do for a rooftop tent if Rivian doesn't come through with theirs soon. Most of the nicer ones are way too long.

Everything seems to be getting lower/longer these days. I'm probably sticking with the hitch rack IF it will still fit in my garage. If not I'll fall back to pad on tailgate. If I didn't already have a dedicated truck camper I'd be looking hard at making a pop top shell work (GFC, AT Overland, Super Pacific, etc)

iKamper SkyCamp Mini and X-Cover Mini both look like good options and will fit over the bed.

I need something that will comfortable fit a child and two adults. The minis look like they might be a tight fit for that.

I had a little more time this afternoon to play with the 1up rack - it does work without the extender, just need to be careful on loading the bike closest to the tailgate. I have the hitch inserted 4 inches (the locking ball is just under 3" ) so all good.

You are not able to put it into the storage or most upright position as it will hit the bumper, which is a bummer as I always found that the easiest position to bolt on the second rack. You can get it into that 45 degree slot however.

I had to order a longer locking pin from 1up as what I've been using is too short for the hitch (they have that extra 1/4"? steel plate on each side of the receiver)

For those without the truck, that first pic is the hitch cover, lots of plastic...

I’ll probably need a longer locking pin then, too. Would you please share details with me, so I can do the same thing? Simply ask 1UP for a longer locking pin?

I'll let you know most likely on Sunday (scheduled delivery) i ended up ordering 2 of the 1/4 turn replacement pins - the standard one is 3.9" and I think that will work but to be safe also ordered the long one at 5.6". One other note: My rack is like 4 years old and the pin was only 3" long - I think most of the newer racks come with the 3.9" one so you may be okay depending on how new your rack is.

^Thanks @Delusions of Adequacy. Better than expected. Maybe just turn the left crankarm to 6 o'clock to reduce pucker factor?

Nice Tranny, she looks nearly as new as the Rivian. Congrats and enjoy.
