Efficiency has actually gone down! I think I will reset the counter and the truck. I have a hard time believing that a smaller, lighter a/s tire is less efficient than the stock A/T.

CostCo has the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 in 275/55 R20 117T. It is not the 65 so SLIGHTLY less tall. I think I am going to get the BFG Trail Terrain T/A 275/60 R 20 $270 installed including tire warranty/road hazard and lifetime free rotations at CostCo!!Thanks for sharing - I plan to do the same - wait for refreshed R1S and swap 20' for defender 275/65R20. Just hope load spec is 116 or better. Defender LTX M/S2 is currently available as 275/50R22 is my understanding Also the X-Ice is available for 22's
This is bittersweet, but ultimately Im glad the size is on the way. More options are great and I'm going to pick these up upon release.Bad news. The manager at my local discount tire has been talking with Michelin regarding the 275/65/20 MS 2 tires. He just called me to inform me that they pushed the release date again. They are now scheduled to be released in December.
Unless your rotating the spare through with the other 4 on a regular basis I think your fine just keeping it for emergencies. I've done this with other cars.I am probably going to go with Michelin LTX 20" AS to replace my stock Pirelli 20" AT. I'll get better efficiency and a quieter ride. I am just not going offroad enough to use the ATs.
The question I have: can I stay with the Pirelli as my spare tire, or do I need to switch all 5? I've got a practically brand new spare, only swapped it out once with a flat tire and it has maybe 30 miles on it.
By mud and snow rated I'm guessing this doesn't mean the three peak severe winter rating?Hey an update in case it's not already out there. I chatted with Michelin on their website about the 275/65/20 Defender LTX MS2 and they said this...
"Yes, we are making defender LTX M/S2 tire with extra load Mud and snow rated and it is EV compatible, and it will be launched on 1st december 2024 "

Wow! You’re gone get featured on a YouTube video from Just Rolled In, Mechanic’s Nightmares, etc… Just as long as they don’t finish the clip with, “customer declined all repairs and drove the vehicle home”.I’ve been waiting patiently but given the Boston weather, I don’t think I can afford to wait until December.
