False, needs to be a steering wheel button. Tactile as well as front and center. None of this hunting and aiming a finger.
Not good enough. Needs to be tactile and part of the right steering wheel button set. If they must, let us scroll down to it.
You fold the mirrors manually that much where you need a button? The fact that the mirrors fold when you park and walk away isn't enough?

I can confidently say that this type of use case is in the minority. Coming from automotive IT, there is telemetry indicating what features are used, how often, by whom, in what regions, even to the demographic level. Those that are used often are given priority when updating/patching/making improvements.

In the current automotive landscape where everything is software based and on a touch screen, it takes very little effort to enable these things. I'd say it is not a priority for them, but if you feel that strongly, you should submit a request.

Have you tried using the steering wheel buttons to close a garage door? They are so bad, I don't want anything using those until they figure that out.

I find that double clicking the steering wheel button seems to work most of the time. I do use a slight delay between clicks.

Funny that the garage house icon works pretty well. Just the steering wheel that seems to be intermittent.

Agreed, the house icon works well. But the wheel button doesn't even appear 20% of the time, another 20% of the time it displays but I click and I have to do it several times. Another 20% of the time the wrong door shows and it won't scroll to the other door. So that leaves 40% of the time it works like it should.

It doesn't help the screen is disabled for touch when backing up, and I back out of the garage down a long driveway.

Ok I get features, vin, region. How are you getting demographics?

It's not like the buttons don't work. The particular implementation is just junk

Oh, and I want geo-fenced folding mirrors.

Tied to region data. But even easier, a car manufacturers have owner information.

I don't recall what types of data can be used, but typically as long as it can't be tied directly to the person, it is fair game.

Hopefully they have different height profiles for off-road and on road tires to prevent scraping those fender liners...
I’m guessing this is one reason the lower height is coming out now that you can input the tire size in the settings. Still maybe a bit risky to assume everyone’s tire size is set correctly.

Sure. Everyday pulling into my garage. Fold as I approach the door, unfold after the mirror is inside.

Every vehicle I have owned has had a mirror folding button on the driver's door.

I want what the R2 has, changing the temperature from the steering wheel. I envy my wife's Tesla does this. Hopefully it happens soon.

Glad to hear that "Quick Control: A new UI option for one-tap access." will be available. This is a feature that I wanted with the original Kneel Mode. Kneel Mode is something I only occasionally need and an on-demand option is great!

I get it. But it is two motions now.

Swipe right on the screen, hit button. I do similar motions when I need to open the frunk or trunk. Would a dedicated button somewhere make it faster? Sure, by 1.5 seconds?

Anyway, I get it. Lots of things would be easier if it wasn't buried in the menu. No car is going to satisfy every use case, and I'm confident Rivian (any any car manufacturer) looks at this telemetry and prioritizes the popular ones.
