Thank you for the information you provided in your reply. Talk with an individual that has a PDM/Max for sale. I was concerned about the efficiency of that vehicle. Your information erased those doubts.
I understand about exercising the performance portion of the R1T. I have the acceleration boost on my 21 Model Y LR. It is nice to have.

I was a rep in the pacemaker/defibrillator market from 82 until 2008. Moved into a clinical support position in 2008 and retired in 2011. Had an opportunity to return in 2012 as a contractor and I am still doing it. I go to North Dallas, Plano, and McKinney area. I would like to find something so that I could make the round trip without charging.

Thank you for your response. It was very helpful. I do contract work for my former employer and I drive round trip from Tyler to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area 3-4 for times a week. The round trips are 225-250 miles and would like to do them without having to charge. This provides excellent information.

Hey, QuadMotor Large battery (131 kWh) here also from Texas (DFW area). In dual-motor config (Conserve mode) I can drive to Austin from 100% to 35% SoC at the destination. That's 202mi from my house.

A DualMotor should be a bit more efficient but from Tyler to DFW you should have ZERO issues departing from 80%. This screenshot was from my last trip (Some miles around the DFW area + Dalls-Austin + some miles around Austin) a few weeks back and I'm actually traveling back to ATX tomorrow morning and back tomorrow night :)

Mind you, I made this trip in Conserve mode at 70-75mph only and being very careful with my efficiency, hence my 2.85mi/kWh aveage. On the way back I did "Texas speeds" and got ~2.3mi/kWh.

Thank you for your efficiency information and driving in the Conserve mode. Use to make a trip to the Austin/San Antonio from Tyler on a regular basis. I was driving a Porsche Cayenne S and once I got to 35 and headed South the race was on. Use to take that loop around east side of Austin. If you were not doing 80 on it you would get run over.

I have a '24 PDM/Large with 20" wheels, but 60 series AS tires; that combination makes the overall diameter and rolling resistance close to that of the OEM 21" wheel/tire. I've exercised the P capability of my DM setup on more than few occasions, but even with that, my efficiency is usually in the range of 2.6 mi/kWh or so. I have less than 3k miles on my R1T and not much more than 1.5k on the tires (swapped about 6 weeks after delivery), so still early days.
Kudos. This is the most efficient setup from Rivian.
What a shame they won’t commit to 20” on 275/60/20 tires. Pretty dumb to advertise 22” as the range setup.

i got a 24 R1T 21" Large with 4k miles. Efficiency is at 2.55 kwh. My 23 R1s is at 2.33 with 28k miles with mostly all purpose drive.

Hey, on Friday I went to Austin (from DFW) and back on the same day, along with my wife my son (15 y/o 6'1") and a friend, so 4 adults, some bags, laptops and a few other things loaded. I drove Texas speeds all the way in Conserve Mode in both directions.

There was very little City Driving (~40mi), the rest was all in the highway, here are my efficiency numbers:

It was windy on the way down to Austin, efficiency took a hit there as you can see I came back faster and averaged better efficiency :)

My average is also 2.3-2.4 overall with a lot of short distance driving and then that would figure vampire drain in as well. On the highway doing roughly the speed limit it's about 2.7

I've got that configuration and have calculated about 280-320 miles on a full charge on road trips going ~80 mph. So 80-20 would be 60% of that.

21's Dual Perf gets 2.6 in the last 12K, with a little variety. Roadtrip last weekend 800 miles 2.4, but I was at 75 for the great majority. Commute to work 2.8-3.2, stop and go with some highway about 30 miles each way.
