The techs said the same thing, there was no issue. I was persistent and they said they would warranty them out, however if Rivian hasn’t addressed the issue this would happen again. The SC manager said he can warranty out for me between now and 3 years. (They would eat the cost) He said he was going to try to work on something to identify and measure inconsistency’s between seats. He recommended waiting. So I agreed. Between now and then Rivian might acknowledge it or make new seats. I believe there is a mass issue Rivian has with the seats and they havnt said anything. All the demo vehicles had the same issue. I think this would come at great cost to Rivian because they would have to replace the entire seat to fix.

I have exactly the same problem. No air moving through the seat when my back is against the seat. If I take a bit of weight off I can feel the air coming through. I took it to service last week and got the it is working as deisgned. To be honest they are useless (regardless of which vents are turned on) because they move no air when my weight is against them. About 1 in 10 trips they seem to work. I wonder if the system is losing pressure somewhere so the air is not being forced through the seats at high enough pressure to overcome one's body weight. Maybe the system has a mixer valve that isn't working correctly or as someone else said the vent holes and seat holes have moved and are no longer aligned. I'm going to take it back in soon because it provides no are movement when sitting normally but does if I take a bit of weight of the back.

Mine started off working intermittently. It would either be fine, or not work at all for the entire drive. They maybe reset itself for the next drive. No pattern in operation.
Yesterday it finally crapped the bed. Error message. I captured diagnostics and made an appointment. First available was Sep 23rd, just in time for the end of summer here in Arizona.

I've noticed AC & seats aren't as cold after the last update. I used to keep the AC on the lowest setting, but now it's on the 2nd or 3rd setting to get the same amount of cool air circulating in the cabin.

Anyone know a way to make the climate control settings "stick" so they always come back? Whether I remote cool or just get in the vehicle, everything resets to a default every time, which is so stupid. Seats off, floor cooling off, etc. In summer I always want all of them on all the time.
Mine stay on whatever it was last time I left the car. I leave it on 72 degrees auto most of the time.

The fancy vents have a mind of their own, and often don’t point where the software thinks they’re pointing, but the rest of the HVAC settings stay where I leave them.

Open a service ticket.

The problem is that the seats are not AC. They are only vented. Hot air in the cabin = hot air through the seats. Try turning on the actual AC to the rear floor before turning on the vented seats.
This makes a huge difference to me - the air the seats use seems to come from (slightly obviously) below the seats, so having the rear floor vents blowing cold air definitely helps the seat ventilation air being cooler.

As a counter point I have enjoyed my ventilated seats more and found them much more effective this summer than last.

I came from an I-pace which had actually air conditioned seats, so perhaps I’m just settling into my diminished expectations, but at any rate I don’t think the seats in my R1T have gotten worse after an update or anything like that.

I have the same experience...Last year they were actually "cold". Most effective seat "cooler" I've had in a vehicle. My son said the same and was amazed. Then at some point last year there was an update and suddenly many were posting they lost effectiveness. Today, it almost felt like the seat heater was on, but otherwise said blue 3 dots. Doing a hard reset now, but something changed big time.

I don’t think it’s update related. I noticed it working as expected when I picked the truck up, 700 miles or so later it stopped working. No update during that time frame. I think it’s how they were built. Something’s off. I think this is a much bigger problem.

Piling on….. same, it worked amazingly well when we 1st got our S. Now, I can barely feel any cooling. I also had commented how this was the 1st vehicle where the cool seats actually worked.

I never needed to raise the seat or manually turn on A/C to the 2nd row floor before.

I’m of the opinion that it was one of the releases that affected it…. Maybe the rear floor air turned on with the seat blower fan but now it doesn’t to reduce load on the noisy AC compressor….?

Just updated to the new OS and my wife messaged me yesterday and said "Why aren't the seats getting cool anymore?".

I never use the cooling seats that much so I didn't even try.

Hopefully they can get a update out soon to fix it

I actually had the near opposite reaction on the newest update. Low was surprisingly effective for me this morning.

Mine are much more effective with pants off, for sure.
