I love driving off and discovering my passenger mirror is frozen solid in the folded position.More moving things are more broken things. There's a reason I turned off auto-fold, especially in winter.
I don't think you need to hit the button. It definitely activates with the normal brake pedal, same as you'd expect from an ICE vehicle. I'll be honest that I'm not 100% sure if it'll activate the trailer brakes during regen though, but I've never noticed or felt our 5000 lbs trailer pushing the R1T or R1S around under full regen, even on somewhat slippery roads.
- Towing a trailer. This needs to be addressed. I tow a 10k trailer. It weighs more than the truck. When regen braking comes on the truck needs to send power to my trailer brakes, otherwise when it is wet/slippery the trailer will push the truck around and jackknife the trailer…. I don’t want to be fidgeting around to push some button to activate my trailer brakes… it has to be autonomous. I’m posting this on the forum to put it out there. It is a liability for Rivian that should be a priority to fix
The manual doesn't say anything about it either way, only this stuff below. You've been towing for a long time so you know how to set the gain to the proper level.
