Another small fire at the factory

It's a large industrial facility. Fires happen. Sounds like it was small. Sounds like no one was hurt. Sounds like minimal damage if any. But articles about it do get clicks on the internet. It's not the first fire there, it won't be the last. I doubt any other manufacturer is any different.

Not a factory fire but Hyundai/Kia just recalled almost half a million vehicles and are asking people to park outside because of a fire risk (3 known fires iirc). Nothing to do with batteries or EVs.

My PSA for the day, I got my Heat Detector and installed it today in my garage ceiling. (Must go on a ceiling, not wall). 10 year non-replaceable battery. Triggers at 54C or 129F. (Phoenix?). $30 on Amazon w free shipping from the UK, takes about 10-14 days…

No wiring. 10 year battery. Shipped from the UK. Lol—I have not tested it. Installed it on the ceiling above parking spot. Simple.

I wish they made them with a wireless interconnect. Our garage is so far away from our bedroom an alarm going off in the garage at night when people are sleeping probably won't benefit us practically.

A home security system would relay the alarm to the household siren and to an app.

They use a small sensor that is basically a microphone and it detects the loud siren of the heat/fire/smoke/CO alarm and then triggers the central alarm system.

I have one in my house. It works well... Perhaps too well... The "low battery chirp" on one of my detectors triggered my whole house alarm and the FD showed up.
