Does anyone believe they will make meaningful amount of R1S's until q3?

Sure a few will roll off the line in downtime as they need to work out the kinks....

But

a) they are no longer releasing production numbers outside of quarterly report
b) they know how to make r1t's a lot faster than r1s's
c) they are producing and delivering r1t's in batch regardless of customizations and pre-order dates

All signs point to crushing the r1t production number to be able to announce
a) higher than expected production growth
b) get more trucks in customer hands than ford

From a stock and company perception they need to beat the higher end ford numbers for the remainder of 2022

If you want to maximize efficiency, you minimize unknowns (see above points)

R1T's for at least the rest of the quarter, and R1S will probably be that 2nd shift starting in July....

or that's my analysis... back to wishing I had pre-ordered both knowing this could happen...
I guess the good thing here is we are only 1 month away from the start of the 3rd quarter.

An update going into a holiday weekend is typically used for bad news with the hopes people miss the news coverage.

Rivian can never hope to come close to Ford’s numbers. At full capacity, the Normal plant can only put out 150,000 vehicles. Ford sells a million F150s a year and plans to produce 150,000 Lightnings alone next year.

R1S delivered 2/2023
I’m going to log into my account and put a lower case “i” in front of my first name and add my middle name, “Influencer”. My R1S should arrive any day now.

…off to Lululemon to buy Yoga pants.

I had a April-May delivery date for R1S but obviously thats not happening. I reached out to my guide and she said they are doing employee deliveries right now as they did with the R1T. They are still getting feedback on on the R1S and hope to ramp production in June/July. She said there is a possibility of a small amount of deliveries to non employees by the end of May and also mentioned we should be getting updated delivery windows soon....

I remain optimistic that R1S builds will ramp up in the second half of the year with deliveries starting to pick up in July/August. It does mean that pretty much all of us would experience a 3-5 month delay over the original projections we were given. I just wish Rivian would come out and set this expectation instead of letting disappointment build within the community. Rip off the band-aid!

Those poor guides aren't given any more info/guidance than we get, and management expects them to bear the brunt of unhappy pre-order complaints etc. I feel for them.

same message from my guide. Sounds like they are slowly unifying on a response but no formal one from the communication dept. I’ve said this before but I feel sorry for the guides. They bear the brunt of customer impatience but are fed little to no information by leadership.

Can't wait to hear about the Guide meeting, but I'm braced for good news and bad (leaning towards bad).

Can we move this to the ordering, pricing, production, & delivery forum? @Administrator

Roger that, nice to see late May/June deliveries being mentioned in CS calls, but Captain Obvious would like to point out that it is Memorial Day Weekend.

Dont have an R1S on order but when I was speaking to a local PPF installer in Central Oregon about wrapping my truck, he did tell me one of his customers just picked up an R1S from Bellevue and drove it back. I asked him if he meant the truck and he stated no its the SUV.

We definitely deserve an answer today on current delivery status. I think that's all people want at the end of the day. I for one can handle the bad news....it's been more than 3 years in waiting...what's a few more months. ;-)
