The new Dual Motor LFP $69,900 trim appears to be the bargain of the bunch. A lot of improvements under the skin. It appears that the color options are a carry over from 2024. This was a miss by Rivian IMO.

I think the refresh was well done. Rivian must have started on the project years ago with over 600 changes, design, engineering, gearing up vendors, certifications, etc.

Nope. I’m good with gen 1 for now. I want to see how much the follow through is with software updates. Lots of empty promises and delays - text messaging in April 2023, streaming video May 2023, blind spot many many months ago. Were supposedly coming s00n. I’m mostly happy with what I have so don’t get me wrong.

*Also have a R2 on preorder

Entertaining a 2025 Dual Motor LFP but I am going to wait and see if the non Foundation Series AWD Cybertruck is released this year at the estimated $79,990.

I have an early reservation and passed on my March 5th FS CT invite. The AWD CT should qualify for the $7500 tax credit since the battery cells are US manufactured.

I’m good with a Gen 1 for now but will pay attention to how things pan out.

Which one is louder and which will be happier with illogical short term self gratification?
The eyes are always louder but I've learned to ignore them or else what's left of my brain will get very upset later.

Nope - waiting to splurge on the R2. I want the window that rolls down in tail gate - #1 thing I (and the dogs) miss from my 4Runner. Also want the native NACS port, haptic scroll wheels, 2 glove boxes, plus what ever other innovations come out in the next 1.5 years.

In addition to the increase in cost for gen2, reviewing the R2 specs again has my me excited to wait.

I wanna see the LFP battery DC charging performance first. If I like it I'll get that, I'd like a dual max but it looks like at the moment the dual max doesn't offer the new 20s which I want

Waiting for the inevitable price drop…but still thinking I’ll just wait for R2.

It's a never ending cycle, I'm sure they'll be another refresh within 5 years. Keeping my R1T and 2 reservations for R2. Upgrades while easy when facing a choice to initially buy make sense, but trade for them no sense at all. My R1T is just a good as it was 2 weeks ago, another software update and I'll forget all about the refresh.

110% Yes!

The only thing that keeps Rivian from calling the R1S an entirely different name like R1SeX is that they kept the same-ish sexy exterior. ??

Same here. I leased my R1T as a stop-gap until the R2 comes out, which is more ideal for me.

2026 R2 Tri Motor Ascent has my name all over it. I will say I am in love with my gen 1 R1 though, and will continue to be.

Same….although after owning an R1, the R2 shouldn’t be much of a “splurge” if they keep the pricing stuff as promised…

Agreed, very much so.

I am in the mountains a lot during the snow season so I decided to "upgrade" to a dual motor max. Delivery is Sept-Oct.
