In its current state, Autonomy Platform + is not worth a subscription price. I think that's why they've been delaying the subscription. They need to get it to a point where a subscription makes sense and they're nowhere near that.

Perhaps when I am too old to drive myself safely, I might consider it.

Then again, I also hate subscriptions to anything other than magazines (remember those?) I don't even pay for cable TV (remember that?) I use something called a TV antenna that wirelessly picks up high definition digital buffer-free Live television broadcasts over the air at no cost. I do also have a wired internet broadband connection and cell phone data plan, but I don't like having to pay for that.

My R1T evidently has a free wireless connection to the web for navigation, software updates, emergency services for which I am thrilled, except for the questionable telemetry and data tracking,

$0.00. I like driving. I hope those that want it have to cover ALL the development costs.

G1 D+ is not in development anymore, is it? I thought they abandoned it.

I can rationalize subscription costs for something that costs money to keep up/run, and sometimes if it has continual improvements. In the case of G1 D+, if they've abandoned development of it beyond NHTSA compliance changes, a D+ subscription would be the equivalent of a heated seats subscription. Given this, I don't see Rivian attempting to charge for G1 D+.

Rarely use cruse in any of the cars I’ve owned.
Distance-pacing cruise is the one option I've come to really enjoy, especially the Rivian version that stays engaged for stop & start traffic. In general, I use cruise to keep myself from "speeding too much", meaning I have my usual allowances for going over the speed limit (e.g., 5mph over when it's 50 or under, etc). Otherwise, I'll find myself going 45 in a 30 as some roads have no logic to their speed limit...

Other than that, I'm in the "I want to drive my vehicle" camp.

Ya I wont even pay for the current subscription. Definitely not paying for one that doesn't let me go hands free in my gen one.

I would pay for one that gives me access to repair documents and full access to parts just saying Rivian.

Like most, current iteration, nothing. However, unlike most, I do see the appeal to some self driving technology as someone who drives a lot. Realistically, probably $25 a month max or $3k lifetime if it get ever gets to be something that can at least drive for me on the highway handsfree with no interruption or constant nagging. I'm basing this off Bluecruise, which I did for one month and did a lot of a the legwork on a 5 hour drive and it was about $17 with the points I had with Ford. That was worth it. Only the highway, but made a huge difference in my overall energy upon arrival.

Until I can get in the backseat and sleep, while the car drives me to my destination, I have no reason to pay for something like that.

Not at all! I am willing to pay $200,000 for it. Which I already have.

They might not be changing it's functionality, but I think it will continue to get updated map data (they separated that out from the normal OTA channel sometime last year...)

Gen 1 here, the capabilities would have to increase significantly for me to be willing to pay anything. And they better damn well not try to charge for what Gen 1 can do right now.

Ford had two levels of "self-driving tech" on my Mach-E. "BlueCruise" was the big-name one. Mine had the lower. "Co-Pilot 360". That was the free one. *THAT* could do more than Gen 1 Rivian can do. It did lane-centering And Ford's system works while towing.

I use the Adaptive Cruise Control and I use the Enhanced Driver Assist function frequently. Yeah, me. How is the this Rivian Autonomy Platform mentioned by the OP different from that? Is it bringing another layer of hands-off / ADAS driving to the Rivian?

My husband's Tesla Model Y has ADAS, and he demonstrated it for me one evening running errands (and it scared the crap out of me!) by letting it drive us to our destination IN TRAFFIC, AND PARK THE CAR! Does the Rivian's technology have that capability?

I searched YouTube and what comes up is nothing more than what I currently have and use.

As for Connect+, as soon as we get on the road, the spouse has his iPhone out and is checking Email and surfing over the Rivian Wi-Fi. For what we are saving on cellular data each month, we'll keep it for the mobile hot-spot.
