I unbolted my XO rack and RTT assembly and hoisted it this weekend. There are 3 threaded bolts per column - 12 total. Took about 20 minutes to unbolt - not exactly quick release but pretty easy. Here is the hoisted assembly

I like them... I wanted "full height" molle panels on the exterior for added security of the bed contents. The axis-swing gates make this a really useful feature to allow simultaneous access and security. In my opinion, the diagonal slot design gives it a bit of an aesthetic "pop".

What is the height of the bedrack pictured here? Do you have any shots of the whole rig mounted? How high above the roofline does the ikamper sit? Do you think it would be possible to maintain an aerodynamic profile with a lower height rack like 13"?

My bed rack is 18" high which planes with the lower edge of the roof fin. I do not have current photos of the rack on the truck with the RTT mounted on it, but will post some next time I mount the rack.

You could certainly use a 13" rack and get less aero drag, but you wouldn't be gaining much access/utilization over the Rivian crossbars which are about 4" high. In my opinion, the advantage of the XO bed rack is greater bed storage under the tent platform and additional storage options along the rack side panels. At 13" high, you're not getting much advantage in these areas. YMMV.

So from the looks of this, there is no access to open the gear tunnel with the rack installed. Is that correct?

incorrect. There are integral buttons to operate each gear tunnel.

Hey Guys.

I am Alan, one of the co-founders of Xtrusion Overland and we're very excited to bring this platform to the R1T

The bed rack is ready for orders. It can be configured in XTR1 version from 9" to 23" in height from Bed Rail trim to top of crossbar measured vertically. We are in production of the CNC components and looking at deliveries in March.

Configure here

We've been asked about height to match the bars, however, with the rack looking way to tall, we will likely offer also a bar height kit to add to the rack to match the bars while you want to carry cargo that reaches over the roof, and remove when you don't need it. It will be optional for heights 18" through 20".

In my opinion, the ideal height is 18" as it maintains aerodynamic flow.

Let me know if you have any questions on the platform, and I am happy to help!
Alan, I bought the 14" rack and it's too low for my Roofnest rooftop tent on my R1T. Is there a way I can order the 18" post separately? Please let me know. Thanks.

XO sells alternate height kits on their website. Shipping lead times have been extremely long lately so you may just want to buy some extrusion and cut it yourself if you’re in a hurry. If you email them, XO will tell you the lengths of all the bars you’ll need to cut for your target height.

I know that this was a while back, but I've been meaning to mention this possibility. Bondhus makes arguably the finest hex wrenchs, and the stubby variety is an excellent option for those situations where regular "L" wrenches don't fit well.

I ordered this set today. Thanks for sharing!

Anyone have pics (or opinions) on the racks between 14"-16"? I'm trying to find a sweet spot between not trying to have my upcoming RTT (10" height) peek up too much, while still having some visibility when looking back.

You'll have to be careful in the 14"-16" height to ensure your RTT is mounted far enough aft to avoid the delicate fin. This rack is 18" and you can see the RTT sits just above the fin... any lower and I'd have to slide the entire RTT aft several inches... which may require an additional crossbar for mounting the RTT.

Oh, good call out. That damned fin. My tent's 55" long packed. I need to measure, but I think it shouldn't hang out much, if at all.
