I live maybe 10 miles from there, have no need to charge there but will probably drive by once a day until it is open. Or maybe I can do the old school concert ticket thing and camp out!

No charges reported so far. As of right now, there isn't any mechanism for them to charge even if they wanted to. It will have to be through your Rivian.com/app account, but you can't put in a payment card yet.

just FYI I think they do have a mechanism for charging, they have started on some of the L2 chargers. The Crested Butte ones require payment now.

It has been a few months so I don't remember the exact process of payment, but it was not through a physical card reader. I remember a QR code, and it used the payment method I had set already through rivian.com. I do see my payment method in the app as well under profile settings. Mostly I was disappointed it didn't recognize my truck automatically.

It definitely exists. In the app under account settings there has been a payment method for as long as I can remember.
