For anyone interested in other new electric SUVs (wagons?) - My car service picked me up in a brand new Cadillac Lyric over the weekend so I thought I'd share a quick impression. Sorry the pictures are crappy but it was after a long travel day and I didn't realize it was going to be a new EV.

It's a lot better looking in person than I was expecting and the ride quality is fantastic. I know the software is still very very buggy, but hopefully they'll get that worked out. The interior is really nice and the back seat was infinitely more comfortable than any Tesla. I am not generally interested in Cadillac products, but if I needed a mid size SUV or Wagon I'd prefer this over a model Y. The seats are great, it has physical buttons as well as a really nice screen (as long as it isn't crashing).

I had a deposit down for one before my Rivian, I was expecting delivery in Spring 2022. One thing Cadillac has done really well in that time was make Rivian's Communications look outstanding.

Same! I STILL haven't received my Debut Edition Lyriq and with my R1S slated to arrive Oct-Dec 23, it doesn't make sense for me to take possession of the Lyriq for such a short period of time. If it had arrived as expected in Spring 2022, I would have taken it, but now will probably just ask for my deposit back when the dealer gets around to contacting me!! In the meantime, I'll just putt around in my Lucid Air and Model S!!

I'm salty they didn't bring the AWD to market first. Never bothered trying to order one because of that. I guess if you're a car hire in CA you don't need the power nor the drivetrain.

I have a friend who works for Cadillac specifically with the Lyric rollout. Apparently the software has been problematic and they haven't been able to deliver them because they bugs are too significant - screen lock ups etc. While they are finally rolling them out, but it's going to be very slow going for a while. When I sent him pictures he was shocked that I was riding in one. I think it's one of a few in the first batch to hit LA dealers who then sold them to the car service company.

It's all ironpig's friend's fault! Boo!

I haven't heard anything about my Delayed Edition. I think in September 2022 I got an email from GM saying they expected to have all the DE's built by the end of 2022, but here we are still waiting. I thought I was going to buy it in Spring 2022, and then wait for a R1S or a max pack R1T, since they had longer lead times. The complete lack of communication from GM and changes to the tax incentives (I wouldn't qualify in 2023) lead me to switch to a Large R1T in late September, accepted delivery in early November. I will cancel the DE once its at the dealer and I have to make a decision. I just don't want to cancel it now and then something tragic happen to my R1T, and then have to go on a wait list again for another year/years. I also think the upgrade charge of $2k-$3k for the AWD with more power is definitely worth it over the Delayed Editions, unless that pricing has changed, I haven't been paying much attention to Cadillac.

Makes sense. I have a few back up reservations for upcoming vehicles like the RAM BEV. It pays to have a place in line if your needs change.
