Hey Folks!
Has anyone else encountered an issue with their Camp Speaker abducting the bluetooth signal from their phone? Several times I have been working in the yard and listening to music on my phone via ear buds, when the music stops. Looking at my phone, I'll see the Camp Speaker has taken over the connection!
I haven't stuck my head in the truck to see if I can hear anything playing (the speaker is docked in the truck).

Weird!

My solution for the camp speaker is to make sure I turn it off when it's not being used/is docked. Keeps it from trying to connect to things.

The speaker will turn itself back on and steal the connection while in the dock. Best solution is to put the speaker on the shelf in the garage and allow the battery to drain completely and never use it again. At the very least I would remove it from bluetooth on your phone so it does not connect. The speaker will still turn itself on all the time and most likely not recharge properly on the dock. When the battery on the speaker gets low it will make loud noises hopefully not while you are asleep inside at 3am.

Camp speaker isn't a problem for me. Usually my hearing aids are the bluetooth pirate, although the truck has been known to pirate the bluetooth from ear buds back when I could wear ear buds.

Getting old sucks.

The biggest issue I have with the camper speaker is trying to reconnect to it.

I use the camp speaker in my Garage while working out.
I shut it off after each use but I leave it plugged in (the battery is already bad so no worries there)

Almost every time I use it I have to reconnect the bluetooth. It doesn't reconnect to the old one.

I don't know if its my phone, watch, or the speaker that's causing the issue.

I just know its going to take a minute to a new connection every single time I workout.

Yeah that thing is annoying. The speaker should disable its bluetooth when it is docked so that it doesn't connect o your phone.

When you are somewhere in your house, doing something unrelated, and you hear ... "ba-da-doom" ... for no reason ...

I loved the concept of the camp speaker but every time I use it I have to fight with it to do basic things like playing music. Versus cheap bluetooth speakers I have on my bike its overly complex and quirky. Other than the powered tonneau which they pulled from my order its the largest disappointment in my Rivian. At almost 30K miles over last couple years and LOVE it otherwise. Thought it was going to be a weekend driver but we drive it everywhere (quad R1T)

I think Rivian had the same summer intern design the Bluetooth on the Camp Speaker and the Power Tonneau Cover...how else can a company with engineering know-how screw up such plebeian accessories?

I’ve had this happen when I was camping and trying to sleep in my RTT. I’m Iike what the heck is going on down there? It didn’t take long before I realized it was the camp speaker and it got permanently removed from my truck.

I find that the solution is to remove the Camp Speaker from the iPhone’s bluetooth connection list. Of course, then you have to add it back when you want to use it again. It’s annoying to have to do this, but it works.

Do you guys like the speaker? Is it worth the $$? I have a bunch of credits in the shop and have been contemplating getting one.
