Charging issues: On long road trip getting warnings when trying to charge

2025 R1S owner here. I’m on a long road trip and have had this warning come up 3 times when attempting to charge. I even once had a battery critical warning. I did a media reset which didn’t clear it then a hard reset which did clear it. I then was able to charge successfully though with a LOT of anxiety and 2 long calls to support. Anyone else had this issue? Long distance driving tips also welcome.

I’m in Vermont where is is very cold and heading back to Maryland.
Other than this issue, love the Rivian.

I’m sorry this happening to you. I think your hard reset strategy was the right move. Was this your first time fast charging repeatedly on a trip?

I have heard of a couple of charger port errors happening with fast charging so I’d definitely put in a ticket.

Just made it through a Seattle to LA road trip last week without any problems in my 2024 dual large R1S. As far as tips, I suggest more frequent shorter stops at lower battery percentage. That got me the best speed son Tesla and RAN chargers. I find that once it dips below 130KW it’s faster to move on to the next charger.
