Almost every conversation I have about my truck is positive but I always emphasize things they can relate to when I talk about. About how fast it is or about how cool I find it. So long as I'm not coming from a place of "I'm part of the solution for climate change and this truck is doing my part" you'll be good.
Right-wing talking points:
-it's fast as hell
-it tows like a beast (admit the range issue, but mention it's super convenient taking the boat to the launch)
-So much storage! Show off your tool box in the gear tunnel (get a tool box for the gear tunnel) and pop open the fridge in the frunk full of cold beverages (get that too)
-it's incredibly quiet and peaceful on the inside (this is my go-to. My wife is hard of hearing and it was incredibly difficult to talk in the old Land Rover, let alone listen to music. Now we can do both!)

My dryer breaker is 30 amps. And the adapter supplied by Rivian doesn’t fit in …

would such an adapter work. And if so. Where do I get one? My wall charger won’t be installed for a month or so

thanks in advance and didn’t mean to hijacke the thread.
What type of dryer plug is it? You can definitely get adapter to change it to a 14-50 you will just need to reduce charge rate in truck to 24 amps.

Feel free to PM me and I can help find an adapter if needed. Here are the plug types:

Can you reduce the amperage of the 120V plug? I'm still waiting on my 60A dedicated circuit to be put in and have been relying on public charging because I didn't want to trip a 15A breaker on an older panel. Plus I'd have to run it across extension cords which is probably not a great idea.

I think you can change the amperage in the truck down to 8 amps. Doesn’t go lower than that.

Yes it will try to charge at 12amps on 120v. That's fine for a 15 amp breaker provided you have nothing else plugged into the same circuit. If you have other things plugged into the same circuit, you can reduce it to 10 amps or as low as 8 amps.

I would try to avoid extension cords if possible. But if that's not possible, you want the highest gauge wire you can get to prevent voltage drop and only get a cord long enough to reach. Don't get anything more than that. So if you need 15 ft. To reach, get a 15 foot or 20 ft extension cord. Don't get a 50 ft. The longer the cord, the more voltage drop.
