Odd. I don't have this issue. Started streaming in park, and drove all the way to work without any interruptions... What are you using for your trigger to start your hotspot?
Oh you know what? I think its just that I had bluetooth off on the phone a couple times when getting in the truck, so that was the switching over delay. I'll see if that remedies it.

This forum is becoming a shitshow of complainers and whiners with the occasional drive-by *this car tired to kill me*.

I am reading it less and less. Not that anyone cares..I won’t let the door hit me on the way out.

Absolute BS, and a petty way to treat your early adopter customers who, like me, probably had nothing but good things to say about Rivian. But now, I am not going to recommend. I wish they'd send an NPS score before and after the Connect+ BS. Mine would have gone from 10 to 0. To have features taken away after purchase with no plan for legacy members its utter scheme to monetize. The good ole' bait and switch. I would have probably paid for it if they rolled it out the right way.
The standard NPS benchmark for automobile brands is 40 with Rivian at a 21. You'r zero won't do anything that hasn't been already done. Having said that and reading 175-200K NPS surveys a year, NPS is just another panacea modern snake oil customer service metric . It doesn't tie to revenue, traffic, purchases or average revenue per customer or profit, so pretty worthless for an actual company except the marketing team.

For example the hottest girls clothing brand is Lululemon, yet their NPS is 16 compared to a retail benchmark of 47. Their are printing money yet no-one is recommending them?

In Rivians the NPS is poor, yet everyone wants a Tri-Motor with 1000+ HP and this Forum exists which makes no sense as why would anyone discuss Rivian with such a low NPS

You need to look up bait and switch because it obviously doesn't mean what you think it means. You bought and either assumed or didn't research the data/services part of the purchase even though Rvian was crystal clear. Now instead of taking responsibility for your uninformed choice, you're shifting blame to Rivian with you as a victim. Complete and utter lie whether you believer it or not.

I didn't have this problem this morning. PS the automation works wonderful! I was just about to buy connect+ only to have spotify work natively (i don't have the other stuff).

This automation and forum just saved me the cost of connect+ thank you all!

Following the commencement of production last week, Rivian has announced their own membership program for R1T and R1S owners. The program will grant owners free access to Rivian’s Adventure Network and Waypoint chargers, as well as unlimited 4G LTE connectivity. Although Rivian is yet to build a single operating public charger, they promise over 10,000 will be available by the end of 2023.

Impressively, the Rivian Adventure Network and Waypoint chargers will be powered completely by renewable energy. This will be done via partnerships with certain electricity providers, as opposed to having actual solar panels or wind turbines on-site.

The membership program also includes Rivian off-Roadside Assistance. This service basically ensures you won’t get stranded if you run out of battery in a remote location, with a recovery vehicle being dispatched to help you out.

Lots of other membership perks will be available in the future, including community meetups, “in-cabin content” (infotainment video games akin to Tesla, perhaps?) and even new drive modes. Rivian did not say how much membership will cost once your complimentary 12 months are up, but expect to find out soon.

Rivian’s first two vehicles, the R1T pickup and R1S SUV, start at $67,500 and $70,000 respectfully. Both are capable of 0-60 mph in as little as 3 seconds, meanwhile the R1T can tow up to 11,000 lbs. The R1S has an estimated 316 mile EPA range meanwhile the R1T has a 314 mile EPA estimate.
Each Rivian will come with a 5-year / 60,000 mile general warranty and a 8-year / 175,000 mile battery warranty. With production now underway, first R1T deliveries are expected to happen before the end of the month. When the R1S will reach customers is currently unknown, but it should follow hot on the heels of the R1T sometime this fall.

I get that pop up as well, but as soon as I turn on my hotspot, I get full connectivity and the native apps work on the screen as they should. Not just Bluetooth through my phone. As seen on another thread I set up a shortcut on my iPhone that as soon as BT connects to the Rivian it turns on the hotspot and then that connects. So Teathering does work..FYI

The website states Connect+ provides the "data to access music streaming apps" while the ad in the car states "media app streaming" is included. I'm annoyed because while I was told 15 months ago that I would have to pay for the HotSpot there was no commentary that if I didn't pay for a future subscription the entertainment screen would be effectively useless. At 0.15% of the cost of the car, it feels like Rivian is nickel and diming its relatively few customers.

Chill, tethering still works. I use it every day. If yours doesn't, try a software restart and a phone reboot.

The native Spotify App, Alexa and Google Satellite map were available when I purchased in April. Connect+ was announced in June. I dont recall any mention of any functionality being "limited time only" when I bought it. Very rent-a-center vibes...
I’m right there with you! I took delivery of my R1T in November 2023. It’s not even 1 year and they just shut off features. I do not recall any mention of a trial period. Alexa in particular is the voice control for the vehicle. It’s a (highly imperfect*) safety feature.

*I hate when Alexa disconnects on its own and I have to stop, put the truck into park, reboot, disconnect, wait 5-10 minutes & then reconnect to Alexa. I also hate when my entire infotainment system reboots on its own while driving.

Side Note 1 - I predict a burgeoning industry of class action lawsuits against tech companies for taking away features that were provided at purchase. Consumer protection is all about not making buyers HAVE to read forums like this or 300 page terms & conditions to learn they will get bilked in the future.

Side Note 2 - Sorry you got trolled on here. Not sure if it’s a Rivian thing, but there are nasty people on here. I got pounced on for suggesting that Rivian, LIKE TESLA, vent the vehicle in the summer time when interior temps exceed 100F.

From this post, I will now research the hot spot idea. Well worth my time. Thx for the post!
