I noticed some black grease/reside around the interior wheel well and control arms. Looking a bit further, I noticed some green colored grease leaking out of the CV Boot/Joint area. I'm assuming that's the grease that's been "sprayed" around. I've been experiencing clicking noises when I accelerate and decelerate and now think this is the likely culprit. I checked the other 3 axles and no grease.

I have a service appt in Sept so will find out then but wondering who else has had the CV boot/joint replaced and were your symptoms clicking noises?

I didn’t ever notice clicking but I had a CV boot blowout and the service center replaced the whole axle no problem, even did their best to clean up the grime

thanks for sharing. wondering how you knew there was an issue if there was no clicking. was there some other symptom?

From your pic I don’t see where the CV boot is leaking. Typically the leak happens at creases that experience a lot flex. But being rubber they can also get torn, maybe from off-roading? But your symptoms does sound like a CV issue.

I was swapping my winter wheels for summer and there was grease everywhere. The summer wheels never got any grease on them so the boot was clearly pretty dry. I did a good amount of driving on them before the service center could get me in with no ill effects.

I had same issue fixed couple of months ago. The fix improved suspension noise significantly for me. I used to hear what sounded like loose rocks and knocking going over bumps. Now it's much quieter and only hear the thunck sounds while going over larger bumps.

i guess im describing it as leaking because there is grease all over. don't know how else it would be there other than some type of leak.

I had a similar problem immediately after delivery. Had a hole in one of my CV boots that was slinging grease everywhere over the wheel, control arms, fender well, etc. Grease was black in my case.

While it's not the only possible source of that particular noise, a clicking in the half shaft with a dry (empty) CV boot is a symptom of it being unlubricated for a long time and an indication that the half shaft needs replacing. In my case I didn't have mine long enough for that to happen, since it takes weeks or months worth of driving with no grease. Quad motors have the half shaft tocking sound that's pretty common and has nothing to do with this though.

In my case the service center replaced the whole half shaft. This is in many ways simpler than just changing the boot because they still have to take everything off the axle and it also eliminates a follow-up problem with the half shaft later.

? had no symptoms/noises, but a very thorough tech found a few issues (including cracked subframe) during a service appointment that I thought would take only a few hours and became a couple weeks. With a cracked boot they'll replace the halfshaft, which apparently takes less than an hour to complete.
