I had an interesting day at my go to EA charger in northern PA on my trip to camp today. The vast majority of the time I am the only one charging when I stop, although I'll get an occasional sighting since it is a good location right off an interstate. I was surprised to turn into the parking lot today to see all 4 spots taken. And since EA was brilliant enough to put them at the edge of the lot, only one of the 2 cables on each of the 4 stations can be used when 4 spots are occupied. I quickly realized this wasn't just a random collection of owners though. Not only were 4 charging, there were several others in the parking lot. I think there were 3 and probably 4 Silverado EVs there. The Blazer and Equinox were there too. The vehicle on the right was the support van EV charging too. Parking lot was full of engineers on laptops and the interiors were all in varying partial states with testing equipment hooked up. The highlight of the bunch though was a wrapped Celestiq. I have to be honest. That is one ugly look for any vehicle, and I'm not talking about the wrap. I'm sure at $300k+ it will be a very nice interior, but for my taste, it will compete with the childish CT for ugliest EV on the road. I was happy to see the Equinox and there is still a good chance if GM can come through on the pricing they announced with it, then it will end up being my wife's next vehicle. I tried to get at least one picture once I joined the party for size comparisons. The Silverado was 2 spots away, so not the greatest pic, but it's obviously bigger than the Rivian. It looked ok. Last pic shows the one feature that it looks like they'll offer as an option that I know a lot of us would have liked to have. I only had to wait a couple of minutes for a spot to open, so ended up being a pretty cool experience for me. I half expected to run into Mary Barra when I went into Taco Bell for my lunch.

Only 1 cable per station can be used in any circumstance, they are a redundancy rather than two available charging spots.

Cool sighting of the truck, still don't like the 'Avalanche' look of it. Love the idea of a midgate though.

That would explain the app showing it as unavailable. I have shared a station at an EVgo with other vehicles so just assumed EA was the same. Good to know.

Yep. I made that mistake on my first time at an EA but the nice Bolt owner let me know.

Yeah I have seen multiple people try to do this, if you read the EA documentation carefully it explains but who reads the instructions. I think most of the newer stations are just a single longer cable, which is awesome IMO after having used them a few times.

That Silverado is a nice looking truck in person. It's like a futuristic looking Avalanche.

And should have been called an avalanche. I never liked that they called it a Silverado…

Majority of the GM camo wrapped cars are missing things and don't have the proper lights front or back. Definitely can't judge them by the cover.

That looks like the EA at Clarion. I just made a stop there on my way to and from our camp last week.

Thanks for calling out that van lol. Now I can't unsee the gross two-tone design on their website.

That’s a pretty cool thing to stumble on. I agree if Chevy can sell the Equinox at the stated price it should be very popular. Decent looking crossover.

Too bad there wasn't that four-door Corvette thing there.
I don't think a working prototype for the Vette exists yet. It is rumored to be the first BEV Prime platform vehicle though, so it's only a matter of time before we see one.

No doubt it's a personal taste thing, but it's the shape of the overall vehicle that just doesn't do it for me. The coolest lights in the world won't fix that. And the online finished renderings are just as bad if not worse. The back end of the whole vehicle just looks horrible to me. But my wife will be the first to let you know the "limitations" of my taste.

Either way, only the ultra wealthy true car officionado/collector and the occasional douchebag looking for a status symbol are in the market for one of these. I am neither of those.

I didn't even realize what it was until later when I looked it up. Made me wish I would have spent more time taking a closer look inside and out and taking a few more pictures. Good chance this might be the only one I ever see considering the price tag and they are only going to make them in batches of 6 at a time.

I have a zero hour reservation on the silverado that I am finally thinking of refunding. It just seems so unnecessarily large next to the r1t.
