Good news! You may be eligible to enroll in Autocharge+ allows EV drivers to start a charge by simply plugging in, no extra steps needed. It makes charging faster and easier.

Add your VIN in the Vehicles section of the EVgo app. Select edit on the top right corner of the Vehicle Details page to add your VIN. If your vehicle is eligible you will be prompted to enroll in Autocharge+.

I did. It results in a "We're sorry, and error occurred. Please contact Evgo @ xxx-xxxx".
Also some fun facts: I have used EVgo exactly zero times. Looks like the trend will continue!

I had the same experience when I tried a few months ago when this was first announced. I guess I'll try again if I ever find myself needing to charge at and EVgo station, but now with my A2Z Tesla adapter, not sure if/when that'll happen.

Even though they are expensive (and an EVGO plan does nothing to help you here), the Pilot / Flying J centers run by EVGO that are opening up around the country are pretty nice and would be a good alternative - with about the same price as a Tesla Supercharger. They are all 24/7 travel centers with restaurants, most with canopies over the chargers.

I am glad Rivian is finally able to Autocharge at EVGO. I had that feature on my Bolt and it was pretty nice to not have to mess with the app.

Yes, it is legit. I enrolled in EVGo autocharge last year, and I use it frequently on road trips. It's nice to just roll up and plug in with no other app or payment steps.

EVGo is expensive but they are also in some nice and convenient locations, like the Pilot / Flying J chargers with actual canopies over them.

Did not receive the email. The one time I went out of my way to try EVgo, all chargers were down. Haven't bothered to use them ever since.

I’m already enrolled in Autocharge+. This is the email that I received today:

Due to a required Rivian firmware update, EVgo must temporarily suspend your vehicle's enrollment in Autocharge+. You can continue to charge at any EVgo location using the EVgo app or your RFID card. We will notify you as soon as your vehicle can use Autocharge+ again.

For any further questions about the firmware update, please contact Rivian.

Thank you,
EVgo Charging Crew

I wouldn't sign up for Autocharge. It's not for everybody, but I've personally been having great luck charging at EVgo stations using BlueDot for $0.30 cents/kWh, which is a lot lower than their normal rates.

Been using BlueDot for the past month. Will post a review in a separate thread. It's basically good pricing at EVgo and Chargepoint stations (and 20% off all other public charging costs) but with strings attached.

I do have a referral link for those interested but like I said, I'll post a review in a separate thread later. We'd both get $25 if someone uses my referral code (and if the invitee signs up and spends $100). Like I said, there are strings attached and specific ways to use the service, but if you can navigate that, I like the pricing. Even got a free charge on Tuesday that normally would have cost me about $40.

I enrolled both my vehicles in Autocharge+ last year (one Ford Mach-E, one Rivian R1T,) haven't gotten any email one way or the other. EVgo app still shows both as "Enrolled in Autocharge+."

So BlueDot actually give you a discount at the plug, not in form of shopping points at affiliated retailers? Does it work the same way at Tesla or other networks? These things were never made clear to me when I opened an account (which is now closed since I never used it). My email to them with the same questions was never responded to.

Their pricing is gnarly and the speeds tend to be pretty pathetic. Lots of ABB all in one 50kW units.

I did, however, successfully enroll in Auto charge today. I had tried and ultimately failed when they announced it last year.
