If you read the comments over there- BaT is car enthusiasts site but still quite a few still unfamiliar with Rivian. It is one more data point on how much more reach the brand has...

I've mentioned here before I live in a community where many people don't know much/anything about Rivian but are really really really gonna want one...and s00n...

I have been an avid BAT watcher for several years. I get their their daily emails of what auctions are closing today and what vehicles sold for yesterday. This Rivian auction should be very interesting. BAT is where real car guys with very deep pockets congregate.

Also, I think it was @Husky22 mentioned that BaT said they had some in the queue. Looking at the URL it ends in "-2", which means they originally had a page set-up for a "-1" R1T. I wonder what happened with that one...(seller got cold feet?). Surprising this first one isn't "no reserve".

Why do people get a custom plate with the vehicle's brand or model on them? It's really weird. On almost every vehicle, it already says the brand.

Obviously, do what you want, but I can't see spending extra just to say

Exactly. BAT is where the rich go to buy cars on their iPhones while they are killing time. I’ve been wondering why we haven’t seen an R1T and I expect the first one on. BAT to hit $150k.
