First *real* issue: 12v error, turtle mode, AWD permanently engaged

Well, took 4 months but I got my first real issue. Last night, several warnings flashed including:

- System Fault, service 12v battery
- Turtle mode, max speed 61mph
- AWD permanently engaged (can't change drive mode)

The warnings went away after letting the truck sleep for 30 min by locking it, walking away and hard closing the app. Thought it was just a fluke until this morning when the warnings appeared again, ugh!

I haven't tried hard reset yet, gonna wait for Rivian to give me a call. Thankfully we have backup vehicles.

This happened to me a few weeks ago, hard reset fixed it. Hasn’t come back in a few weeks. The truck blue screened lol. They are rolling computers.

Quick update: Rivian called me back about 90 min after submitting my ticket.

Hard reset seems to have cleared the issues but they said they were concerned that it happened last night and this morning on separate occasions. The reset also sends them diagnostics so they'll check that out and get back to me if they see anything concerning.

Hope this was just a fluke, truck is 10/10 since delivery otherwise.

I had this happen to our truck just the other night. Soft reset did nothing but hard reset solved the issue. First problem in 4 months as well. Maybe some software glitch?

Same here. 4.5 months old and first issue. Hard reset and so far so good. One note, truck was not driven for 72 hours, then okay yesterday for 10 mile round trip. Then this morning error messages appeared when leaving driveway this morning.

Similar thing happened to me. It was the first sign of the 12V batteries going bad...it can cause voltage variations during the startup that can trigger various "false" errors. Have your 12V batteries checked. My random errors have gone away after having my 12V batteries replaced.

Update: During my service last week they found some loose 12v harness and/or connectors that were remedied. They also updated some firmware (unclear what exactly). My air suspension also died and needed replacement but that was unrelated according to them.

Everything seems clear now ?

I wish Rivian would give us a tech screen. 12v system status(charging, discharging, voltage), cooling/heating system status(temp, pump, heating, cooling), etc....

Or the ability to easily swap the 12v batteries on our own.

I had similar warning lights after my charger melted while charging. A hard reset fixed it.

Also had the same set of errors come up while driving. Pulled over and called Rivian service and they advised to do a hard reset. I kinda knew to try that but did want Rivian to be aware in case there is an actual hardware fault. After reset everything was back to normal and support said I’ll get a call back if they found something that needs to be looked at by service. It’s been about a week later and no call so I assume it’s all good.
