3 weeks into the ownership I found the first unexpected wear and tear --- at the plastic cover at the inner side of B pillar caused by safety belt buckle hitting it...

That’s pretty classic wear and tear I think? I’ve seen it. You can get some products online to help clean it up a little bit. But these plastics are prone to this.

Any recommendations on products that work well for this?

Some of the plastic interior components on the Gen2 are not painted, so you probably want to determine this before you apply any products. I have a Gen 1 and pretty much all the interior plastic is painted.

For this type of issue on past vehicles, I added color matched, self-stick felt, especially if there's noise associated with it, e.g. when the belt clip retracts and smacks the pillar.

Yup happens on tons of vehicles. Either let go of the belt more gently or just clean the area.

Wait, so not everyone carefully hand guides the buckle up to its resting spot like me? ?

check the b pillar where the seatbelts attach. the headliner gets worn from pulling the seatbelt to buckle. poor design. should have been plastic there.

Very standard wear. On the Tesla, the other place that a flying seat belt buckle would hit is the window tint, which did damage.

You need a plastic conditioner like Cerakote Ceramic Trim Coat Kit.

I must just be more careful with my seatbelts, not seeing any of this on my R1S. But then again I do not expect my R1S to look like it just rolled off the showroom floor after more than 1.5 years of use.
