Got any suggestions for keeping the front radar sensors unblocked while driving in snow? (Aside from pulling over every 5-10 minutes to brush off the snow from the front bumper). Got a Gen 1 R1T.

think on gen 2, they put some heating to prevent the radar/proximity sensors from freezing up in snow.

hoping someone here has a trick up their sleeve to solve this issue for gen 1. Took it to Denver Service Center - all they said is they didn’t find any error codes from the captured diagnostics, and they can’t replicate the conditions at the service center to reproduce the problem.

I had the same issue last week driving in WI. It made me remember why I am glad to not live there anymore. All I could think of is a good ceramic coating on the painted surfaces. Unfortunately the flat surfaces are going to attract that sort of thing.

Good question, and curious on the camera's, especially the rear ones in wet weather.

I just keep driving and give 'em a wipe when I park.
It's annoying but not that frequent in CO.

You will have a similar issue with headlights being covered with snow/ice at night as the LED lighting does not generate sufficient heat to self defrost. It’s an issue for many manufacturers

You're just SOL and it'll happen every time it snows and the temperature is anywhere near freezing.

I've read people are ceramic coating the sensors, the camera lenses, plus headlight lenses as well in an attempt to keep them clear. Of all vehicles, my 2012 Plug-In-Prius had squirter nozzles in front of the LED headlight lenses to keep them clear of snow and ice.

Tried it...doesn't work. Big, flat surfaces and insufficient heat generated by any of them to keep the snow from accumulating. It's the most annoying when there is snow lying, but *not* accumulating on the road...only on the truck. So then you still can't use ACC even though the road is clear because the sensors are blocked, specifically the radar. Supposedly Gen2 has a heater for the radar to prevent this, but who knows if it'll work well enough.

Just put your vehicle into Rally Mode, disables the proximity sensors and radar, so no warnings.

No problems, only solutions!

Can confirm on the Gen2 (my 2025 Tri Max Ascend) did not have any type of heating element on the front. Some light snow , rain mix immediately got blocked front sensors error within 30 minutes of that snow/rain event starting. The same thing happened on our return trip from Toronto.

Certainly some room for imporvemnets on ADAS here. It simply can't handle the snow/ice elements.

My sensors were blocked after a snow storm and I cleared them but the warning continues to popup. Also, when I come to a stop the image to the right in the attached screenshot appears on the center display. Anyone else experienced this?

What's the temp? Mine failed in extreme cold.
