^ that 12V break-away connector is pretty sweet! If I was parking in a garage, I'd probably go with that too.

It will be very interesting to see how our 12V trickle charger rigs affects VD during the winter where VD is usually worse.

I don’t have garage space and park in my driveway. I have access to an outlet in the garage though. If I decide to go this route can someone recommend an option? I assume it would need to withstand the weather conditions. Is this strictly for those who can park in a garage?

Further testing/information.
My R1T with a couple of weeks-old dual 12V batteries was parked at my employer's offices during the entire week.

  • Parked on Monday at 6pm with 69.3% SoC
  • Drove out Thursday 4pm with 66.59 SoC

The temperature on the parking lot was not too hot (mid 80s) and I saw the truck having long Sleep Cycles (~5 to 6 hours) with one Idle cycle of about 90-100 minutes. That repeated itself during the entire week.

I'm about to take off for a Starbucks run and I just wanted to screenshot and share this, it was the longest-ever Sleep my truck had that I've been able to see/record so far:

That’s great, that’s more like my Tesla. It sleeps for a long periods of time.

Is that with or without a trickle charger connected?
Have you applied the latest software update that's being pushed right now?

^ thanks!

I've been offered, but I'm holding off installing 2024.35 because forum members say Rivian nerfed the Meridian improvements they gave us on the last update.

So maybe Rivian actually addressed some part of VD in 2024.35?

I don't have a good base to compare with the previous software update as my 12V Battery died a few weeks ago, so maybe comparing an older update with a near-dead 12V battery isn't a good apples-to-apples.

^ agreed, having bad 12V batts definitely increases VD as the vehicle is awake much of the time trying to keep the voltage up on worn out/bat 12V batts.

I have not seen VD improvements. I noticed this morning that my vehicle started charging outside the scheduled time I have defined. It charged for about 30mins to add 0.70kWh to the % limit I defined. I don’t recall experiencing this before .35.

I've been keeping my trickle charger connected 24/7 because I only drive the Rivian on weekends mostly. It's been consistent in losing maybe 3-4miles range/week. It's to the point where I don't worry about VD any longer :)

I drive on the weekends mostly as well, at least for now. I’m not worried about VD but do track it between upgrades and watch posts for any news. I’m still hopeful ?
