I was half joking when I made that comment.....besides......she gets motion sickness looking down at a phone.
I would rather get the 2nd part of my question.
100% agree about the eSIM. Would be nice to choose our own provider.

Evan though I carry a Google phone, I am not much of a fan. Google/Rivian can not find the way to my house even after a year of trying to inform them of their error. (Rivian has been here twice and I had to call them both times to inform them that Google lead them up the wrong driveway). If I want to give out directions to my house, I tell visitors to use Garmin. Garmin has found the way to my garage ever since I purchased my Rivian almost a year ago. To make matters worse, Google has the house and the ADU, on the property with incorrect house numbers. Google shows a video on Street View of about 5 years, before there was a house on the property. Google can't seem to get it right even though they have all my contact info.

I'm not looking forward to a Google app in my Rivian with it's unwillness to correct any errors.
This sounds like you're not taking an active role in trying to correct the issue. Maybe I'm wrong.

But my development is relatively new, and GPS/maps had my address about 1/4 mile down the road from where it actually is.

I submitted the correction on Google Maps, and within about 3-5 months, everyone else seemed to be onboard too (including Rivian's maps).

So, do yourself a favor and https://support.google.com/maps/answer/10010575?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform=Android

Alternatively, you can always 'drop a pin' and send the coordinates and it'll bring anyone/everyone to your front door. It's not rocket science, and it's not verily complicated.

This is really cool, I much prefer this over a native app for video streaming. It's a win win as far as I'm concerned because it's expensive for Rivian to maintain native apps. Maintaining and improving native apps always get deprioritized and just plain suck after a while. This way they just need a few Engineers who makes sure the google cast integration is rock solid and the rest is taken care of.

On the other hand, Spotify has to be a native app and Rivian please make it better. I can't scroll past more than 5 options in one category. I can't tell if a selection is a playlist or music that will start playing the moment I tap on it. The 'Home' screen often bugs out and I have to tap on 'bluetooth mode' and go back to 'Spotify' to 'refresh' the app.

The moment I saw this announcement, I knew we'd be okay! 3000+ app support. Solid QOL.

i thought that I'd comment again with my problem with Google that I have been working on for one year now. Dropping a pin where my R1T is garaged is not the problem. Google shows exactly where it is physically. It just doesn't know how to get here and I believe we even had a white Google Honda drive up my 1/4 mile driveway and turn around recently. Lo and behold a week later the driveway (showing how to get to my Rivian) changed to the neighbor's driveway (about 100 yards away) on the other side of mine. So now to get to our house you go up the driveway and somehow come through the forest to this house. The previous approach to my Rivian came up a neighboring church driveway, through a log fence and over shrubs to get to it. Oh and I have two houses on this property and Google changed the house numbers on both. Garmin has no problem finding our house and the correct driveway. Luckily, our volunteer fire dept knows how to get here. Google seems to not be interested in correcting any of their errors.
