For those of you who have never heard of this, comma.ai is the company that sells hardware for "OpenPilot", which adds an ADAS (Level 2) to cars. It's, by most accounts, much better than what you get with stock ADAS systems. The creator of the company/OpenPilot has a few videos

Anyone have more info or better infe yet, experience? It's From what people are saying it's similar to a Tesla FSD and generally a huge improvement of the main manufacturer...

I’ve had it and been using on my Rav4 for at least 5 years. It works VERY well. Believe it or not, I’ve found it to be better than Tesla’s system (at least the one I had on my 2017 Model S). Just keeps the lane and maintains the distance between you and the car in front of you. Very easy to install if you have any mechanical skills whatsoever. The software is open source, too, so I modded it to never timeout, not require any driver input, and never require an update. It’s fantastic.

PS - I actually bought the RAV4 specifically to install Comma on it ? It was the cheapest (or one of the cheapest) cars with adaptive speed cruise and lane departure.

Yeah, I had installed one on my Escalade, too, but I sold that. The only problems I've had is it working TOO well and have had trouble staying awake when it's engaged ??‍♂

No Rivian on the list. Perhaps Rivian doesn't use the CAN bus feature, and that is what it connects to.

I got it for my Kia EV6 and once it arrives I hope to be blown away. But with Rivian I'm stuck with Driver+ and any upgrades. I don't mind it as much here, the EV6 has a ton of wonky features this should get rid off.

See this reddit thread and the entry from 19 days ago. They apparently offered a bounty on the related discord thread.

I had a couple of iterations of the comma hardware and got out when I purchased my Tesla. Not sure I would jump into it again since they have a lot of goal post moving. When I had the comma 2 they said it would be 1.0 hardware, then they said they were going to focus on optimizing for end to end vice optimizing it for the comma 2; enter comma 3, more expensive hardware that maybe will be 1.0 hardware?

Yeah it is a big improvement over my EV6, I hated that cruise control. Which is odd because that is a 2023 and I loved it on my 21 Telluride.

There are some betas of E2E but I'm trying to make sure I'm already very comfortable with it before doing anything potentially dangerous. I'm just running a devel version now with some extra features, but I have the red light and stop sign off - again seem like a hazard, even if it did work most of the tim.

One feature I like it even at a stop you get notified that the car in front takes off (Yes I tend to use ACC on any35 mph road or higher, but not in residential) It has taken much of the stress over my commute.

I'm fairly happy with Driver+, mine seem to pull a little to the right, I do wish for resume, and I would love an auto lane change so I don't have to break driver+ every time I change lanes
