Help! Mud on trim won’t come off

Washed my car and thought it was mud but it won’t come off. It’s very hard almost like cement. It’s on the bottom plastic trim. Any ideas on what I can try and use to get it off?

I would try Goo Gone. It works wonders on all kinds of stuff and it’s not going to ruin your trim if it doesn’t work.

Try the 303 cleaner and protectant products. Some mentioned magic erasers but that didn't work for me. DON'T put the 303 protectant over mud though will seal in for good! Try a pressure washer? That trim is a royal pain.

I’ve noticed something similar in the bed as well. I’ve had a smudge on the tailgate trim for months. It seems like clay-like mud is the issue and that plastic trim really holds onto it. Haven’t tried goo b gone but that’s a good suggestion. Car washes don’t seem to do the trick at all.

By chance did you go down a lime rock road? Here in FL they use it a lot for road bases prior to asphalt. And yes its a PITA to wash it off plastic.

IT's been raining a lot here in California so I thought it was just "mud" that splashed up but it won't come off and it's not smooth like paint, it's rough like cement. My car has a matte ppf with ceramic but not sure if the trim was done.

I’ve used a nylon brush and Simple Green to great effect at removing cr*p from the plastic cladding.

If it's a cement or lime-based material, a little vinegar will help disolve it and weaken the bonds. Rinse with water, dry and put a protectant on that plastic. That will make it more difficult for things to adhere in the future.

Yeah, same here. Ceramic coated and then pressure wash when needed.

Regular dirt won't come off mine, washed the car and scrubbed the trim with a wheel brush. After it's dry dirt still there. I'll try simple green and brush this weekend.

Finally got it off! I sprayed vinegar and used a microfiber towel and had to really rub it. I also had to gently use a putty knife of the thicker parts and finally used a pressure washer up in the wheel wells. Thanks for all the advise.
