I was wondering if anyone experienced this issue: when driving my 25 G2 R1S, I get a high pitched noise from what seems to be the passenger A pillar speaker. I thought it was wind noise at first and possibly a bad seal, but it only comes when I hit 40mph, and continues until around 60mph. It doesn’t change pitch with speed as you would expect wind noise to do, so I’m thinking possibly electronic. Anyone have this issue?

I picked up my 2025 R1T on 8/16 and driving home from the service center the first time I hit about 40 mph I heard the same high pitched noise. Like you it is only between about 40 and 60 mph. I turned off the climate control but it is not coming from that. I was considering opening a service ticket but not sure how attentive Rivian will be, that and I live 100 miles from the nearest service center. I was hoping someone on here had a quick fix.

On the day of delivery, I opened a service ticket for a repair item and for a chirping sound coming from the driver’s side pillar between 37–60 mph. At first, I thought it was wind noise, but the pitch does not change with speed. The earliest available appointment is on 10/1, so I don’t yet have feedback on the cause.

I think it may bewind buffeting around those big mirrors. There is a company called 034 motorsports. They sell a universal anti buffeting kit. It’s only 15 bucks. I ordered one. Let’s see. Wind buffeting occurs a lot on other vehicles with stalk mounted mirrors. Very common.

I have a service appointment set for it in October. I’ll report back what/if they find anything. It’s really annoying when not listening to music.

It's definitely not wind. It's getting worse with time, not speed.

Yes! electronic chirping is how I've been describing it. It started off fairly quiet, but over the last 2k miles, it's getting louder and much more noticable.

Wait, that’s not normal? (Not trying to be funny). I ready somewhere that adding a little foam to the gap in trim next to the mirror would fix, but I haven’t tried and wasn’t 100% sure it’s wind. I’m in a Gen2 R1T btw…

Not normal - I've driven quite a few Rivians' (our own, friends, and 5+ loaners), and our gen2 R1T is the only one thats made this sound - and only started making it after being serviced.

Our 2 year old hates it. I think it hits his ears hard - he only wants to go in the R1S.

Does it sound like this?

Yes! Ours sounds identical to this and it only comes from the driver’s side. At first, I thought it was wind noise, but it doesn’t change intensity or pitch with speed.

Well, the big day has come. Took the truck in for service yesterday, did a ride-along to demonstrate the issue with the tech. They claim they have it resolved, so I'll go pick it up today and report back what the issue was that they found.
