I got it once on the hood, but not sense. I have gotten notice about the gear tunnel door being open a few times when it wasn't. Just have to open and close it to clear the alarm.

I'll have them look at it all when I take it in for service eventually.

Even happier to report service tech replaced the latch assembly and the issue is fixed. Overall it was a good experience for me getting this quickly fixed.

Yep. I have the same issue(intermittent) and Rivian just called me to schedule an appointment to replace the latch in the service center.

@HimuraMOdo Did Rivian replace the latch? How many days did it take between the time you reported the issue and when they fixed/replaced it?

Yes, Rivian did replaced the latch. I reported the issue on 07/08 and Rivian called me to schedule the service on 07/12. But due to my schedule conflict, I have it replaced last Friday instead. However, the hood latch error didn’t show up anymore after I have the hood CPR done and the software update.
The service guy did told me that part of the software update after 07/08 did improve the hood latch issue but to be sure they’re gonna replace it anyway.

Still waiting on the service response to my Open Hood warnings.

However, after reading someone else's post, I performed a little CPR. Basically, I went to each corner of the hood and put my hands over where the latch is (approximately). I gave it five quick compressions. On one side I heard the faintest "click," like when the chiropractor cracks your back.

Since then, I have been 48 hours without the Open Hood warning! I have not opened the frunk to show anyone since it seems to be in a happy state. I'd still like service to confirm that it is functioning correctly mechanically and with the sensor. But for now -- blissful, alarm-free driving!
The hood lifts at highway speed if the latch is not adjusted correctly. No danger, just an adjustment.

I'm still waiting for service on my hood issue. First reported 7/11.
Over the weekend my son opened the front trunk as we were showing off the Rivian at a baseball tournament and I couldn't close it after about 20 times trying. I was about to call support and thought we'd be stuck away from home when my wife suggested trying to pull the hood forward slightly when it shut before it latched and that did the trick. Messaged my guide again...getting frustrated about this

I have had issue 3 times now. The hood just tends to unlatch itself. Will submit a ticket too.

Same issue here. Doesn’t happen every day but when it does it happens repeatedly. My observation is that it tends to happen when I exceed 75 mph. That leads me to think that it has to do with wind pressure lifting the hood. However, the first time it happened was after a short charging session sitting still.

I also have water accumulating inside my front passenger door after a hard rain. ?

I’ve had a service request in for weeks on the hood issue and have followed up a couple of times but still haven’t been given a date for pickup. I’m in NC and my service center is in Richmond. I really hope this isn’t typical of the response times we can expect from Rivian service.

Follow up: Service finally sent a truck and picked up my R1T, serviced it in Richmond and returned it to me with problems either explained or resolved. The hood latch issue is definitely a common and known issue, and was said to have been replaced. The water accumulating inside the door was explained as a normal routing of water to a possibly plugged drain hole. He said they enlarged the drain hole. A couple of other issues were addressed as well. Service adviser was nice and the pickup and delivery teams were great. So far no recurrences but I’ll report if any come up.

Just returned from the service center on my hood latch issue. They said it was a software glitch - if the brightness of the interior lights and (or - not sure if it’s one of them or both) the display is above a certain level then it causes the issue. They moved the levels down below 50% and it went away. They said it would be addressed soon in an update.
