Apologies if this has been covered but I couldn’t find anything. I just took delivery of my 2nd gen R1S lease about a week ago and I’m still learning about it (as well as the app). I was hoping someone could shed some light on this… I’m finding that the range numbers for each SOC within the app’s Energy page are not nearly correct. In the included screen shot you can see that at the current SOC of 70% it’s showing 176 miles. I have a dual max battery. Shouldn’t 70% be closer to 280/290?

I have a Gen 1 standard battery, so I'm not familiar with all the ranges at this point, but it also has to do with your drive mode. Sport/ All Purpose will be lower range than Conserve. Tires also make a difference. If yours has AT tires, the range will be lower. The range estimates factor all of that plus your driving behavior into what it shows you.

That being said, we have seen at least one case where an owner's Rivian didn't seem to know it was an unlocked max pack battery and was showing data for the standard battery. Hopefully someone with a dual max can add their 2 cents with real world range reports...

You mentioned that you have a Dual Max, so All-Purpose is the "standard" drive mode for that rig. That number is quite weird.

It's only showing this number in the app and not in the vehicle, right? If so, try signing out of the app, then black in.

I just tried signing out then back in. No change. But when I select the current charting session it shows correctly. I guess I’ll open another service ticket. Thanks for all the info.

Mine has also been showing incorrect SOC in the app for a few weeks now. As you can see, when I slide it up to 100% in all purpose, it shows max of 215 miles in the app. However, in vehicle it shows 100% at 274 (which is the correct number). (Gen 1 Large)

Report the bug. Main screen of Rivian mobile app, scroll to bottom to "Share feedback".

I have a 2025 R1S Dual, Max Pack with the adventure trim (so max range is supposed to be 371 miles at 100%). My current SOC is 49% and the All Purpose range is reported to be 184 miles, 70% is reported to be 263 (my average is 2.736 Mi/kWh over 2,500 miles). Definitely something wrong there.

I picked up my R1T last Saturday and had a similar issue but a week later the number in the app is the same as the car. I read the app might assume a more conservative estimate until the car has enough driving data to determine how you drive?

Where are you getting your 371 number from? Mine is also a 2025 R1S (gen 2) Dual, Max pack, adventure trim. It was advertised as 410 miles range.

I have the Adventure trim. Different wheels and tires which lowers the 410 to 371

Oh interesting. Didn’t realize wheels and tires affected it that much. I have the Adventure Trim but Range Wheels. 🤷‍♂️
