I went through this last year. I had the "Jackpucks" brand, and the 1st generation of those didn't have a hole large enough for a bottle jack. I wound up purchasing several different jacks and pucks, and gave away (or returned to Amazon) the stuff I didn't like as much (or that didn't work).

Maybe post a picture of what you're seeing with yours?

Just reached 5k miles on my Gen 2 R1S DMP and planning to rotate my own tires. Purchased 1EV Sportline Magnetic Jack Pucks and a 10–ton Big Red bottle jack to facilitate my rotation.

The bottle jack’s stem does not fit inside the empty cylindrical cavity inside the 1EV Sportline jack pucks. The top of the bottle jack stem—the “platform”—is too wide to fit inside the jack puck cavity.

It seems like the jack puck cavity was built to accept a bottle jack’s stem (the threaded part), but not the top platform of the stem (which is slightly wider than the threaded stem).

To be clear, the jack pucks will go over and sit on the top of the bottle jack stem, but they won’t go all the way into the cavity for a snug fit.

What am I missing here? Is this normal? Do jack pucks not sit snugly over a bottle jack’s stem? Or maybe the jack pucks I received are faulty?
This is a video of the one I have and how well it works. It’s shown at the 4 min mark.

I found this on the JackPucks site: https://jackpucks.com/products/no-1...=US&currency=USD&gQT=1&variant=45322055516474

Q: Why do you recommend the Torin Big Red 10T Bottle Jack? Can’t I use something else?
A: We recommend the Big Red 10T for three great reasons:
  1. Power – It easily handles the weight of your Rivian.
    1. Affordability – It’s budget-friendly and readily available on Amazon.
    2. Height – It provides enough lift for the front wheels (you’ll need a 2" block for the rear).
While any bottle jack with a top hat diameter of 1.3" or smaller will fit, most 4-8T jacks don’t offer the necessary height for Rivian tires.

Since I've got Jack Pucks, I'll be returning this 12-ton monster and ordering the 10-ton lesser-monster.

We designed our magnetic jack pucks specifically for the 10T Big Red bottle jack and have proudly delivered over 20,000 for Rivian vehicles. As a Rivian owner myself (R1T and R1S), I built these pucks to meet my own high standards—ensuring they perform flawlessly for everyone.

Not all bottle jacks are created equal, but the Big Red 10T hits the perfect balance for Rivian vehicles. It’s affordable, robust, and easily available on Amazon.

Rivians require significant rear lifting height due to their suspension design, and stacking pucks isn't ideal. That’s why we developed the XL puck. Before the XL, I carried an RV jack pad for the extra height needed. For jack stands, I lift from the lower control arms, just as Rivian field service often does.

If you have questions about our jack pucks, bottle jacks, or anything else, reach out anytime! The XL magnetic jack puck is currently sold out after a surge in demand, but pre-orders are now open.

I must have the early version of the jack pucks as I do not have that hole in the bottom of my pucks. They only have the little hole that the top nipple would fit in.

ARB’s jack base is about 2” thick. Using it with the 10T Torin (or similar), plus a puck should provide enough lift for even the rears?

This is what is what I carry in my R1T and in my wifes R1S. I've used a 2" rv jack pad and it has worked fantastic, but had one customer on 20's (same as mine) that said it was just short.....plus a plug kit...

2” pad works for you but not a customer? That’s odd.

It's not that odd, it's a Rivian. Rear suspension cycling, including full droop, can vary from vehicle to vehicle. Since both the puck height and the RV pad are fixed, it is related to where the suspension sits when someone tries to lift it. In some cases, a user may find that a 2" block and a standard jack puck aren’t sufficient to clear the rear tire.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and contributions.

I can now confirm that the EV Sportline jack pucks do not fit the 10-ton Big Red bottle jack saddle because there is a size discrepancy of 0.125" (eighth of an inch). The saddle on the bottle jack is 1.25" whereas the cavity in the EV Sportline puck is 1.125".

I can also confirm that Jack Pucks' MagJaxx pucks fit perfectly on the same bottle jack.

I will be returning my EV Sportline pucks, and intend to ask them why they were sized at 1.125" and advertised for being able to fit all bottle jacks. I will also suggest that they state the size of the puck cavity to hopefully help others proactively identify if the puck(s) will fit the intended bottle jack.

I would be curious to hear from others the sizes of their bottle jack saddles. I suspect there are differences in the saddle sizes based on the specs for the bottle jack (e.g., larger bottle jacks have larger saddles). Who knew?! This type of information would be helpful for the jack puck manufacturers to share with their product descriptions.

I've heard mixed opinions on using the control arm to support the weight of the vehicle, but you obviously have more experience than me on this subject. And I (fortunately) haven't yet seen Rivian mobile service work on my vehicle to see how they lift it.

Appreciate your contributions to this thread and the community.
