Echoing this, I think we need to take our trucks apart more and learn. I had a mobile tech by the other evening who helped fix/replace a broken tailgate latch and taught me a lot. (His first comment was complimenting my 2363 Ram wheels and asking all about them ?). Then we took apart the bed and troubleshot until we figured out the issue, pushed and yanked on a bunch of things, then finally popped it open. He taught me about the old vs new wiring plugs, adjusting bolts for the bed and doors, and how the trim fits together. My truck has gone to service with most of the interior bed missing and they didn't say anything (in for a rear drivetrain issue). As long as whatever you are doing isn't a potential safety issue or causing the problem, I wouldn't worry about it. Service was also fine about my rock sliders but did mention if they needed to drop the battery, that they would have to charge me labor to remove them.
