I had mobile service replace the passenger side DRL/headlight/turn signal assembly. VIN 77xx, in service since June 2022 It started doing the “fast blink” for right turns while on a trip in late March. Confirmed the rear signal was blinking but the front was not. Sometimes it blinked orange once then stopped. Sometime blinked orange when closing the frunk, mostly not. Hazard blinker like turn signal, maybe one blink and stopped.

It’s a big assembly, and took close to 2 hours to replace. All working well. Only negative for the experience was that is took two trips from the Richmond service center to fix it. They sent the first guy on April 6 without the replacement unit, and all he did was check the voltages, and said yep, bad assembly, and he was sorry they didn’t send a replacement with him. So they dispatched another guy 2 weeks later with the unit, who fixed it. Not efficient, but I’m happy it was resolved w/o a service center trip (which is booked for weeks). The techs are great, and easy to work with. Not sure about the back office processes. The tech said he’d never heard of this assembly failing…

Glad they were willing to do remotely. A while back I was told a frunk latch would require a service center visit, which was weird to me as if they gave me the part, I could do it myself in my driveway.

it def sucks with most current vehicles having board mounted LED DRL, my previous vehicle was a 2016 tacoma, which the headlights were so dim it was like looking through urine at night (yellow)

I bought a morimoto kit, it blew out the driver's DRL 2 times and Toyota replaced it under warranty each time (mind you these were plug and play so whatever was in their product caused a short or something in the DRL but morimoto wouldn't admit it, they did refund me and I went to an LED bulb replacement from another company, shocker the DRL worked perfect never failed after that and with the HID kit it failed in a matter of minutes.
