I have to believe somebody at Rivian high enough in executive team....is or can be in contact with somebody high enough in the Tesla executive team, to have a conversation that would result in an anticipated timeline for numbers of units available each month, then multiply that by .8...and then communicate to customer base a reasonable expectation at this time.

Hard to believe for me that all Rivian knows is when a crate shows up...they open it....see how many are in it.
Trust me, it's low priority. Rivian execs have more important things to do than worry about giving out free adapters. This is being handled by a smaller team that likely has 100 other things they're working on.

I don't think anybody said it was going to be quick. Everybody online assumed it would all ship in a few months and are disappointed that it's not sooner. With the whole supercharger team being fired to paused shipments, I'm sure Rivian is also throwing their hands in the air wondering how long this will all take.

The way I see it is that it's basically a free gift. Rivian could have easily just added this to their store and everyone would have been happy to shell out a few hundred to buy it. You could then maybe complain if it took too long. This is the equivalent of someone offering you a stick of gum and then complaining that it's not your favorite flavor.
I am not super active in the forum but I am pretty sure that Rivian said (at least orginally) that any use of an aftermarket adapter is not supported and would void the warranty.

Rivian likely doesn't know because Tesla is shipping them out and only finds out just before your batch goes out. No need to be upset with Rivian about that and I certainly wouldn't hinge your travel plans on getting one or not. If it's important enough, just buy an aftermarket adapter. I've been using my A2Z with great success.
Rivian is a supply chain management company among other things. It’s a bad look, don’t make excuses for them.

That’s not the verbiage. They can’t void your warranty simply for using it.

Correct. The actuality is if you have a electrical issue with your truck after using the adapter....Rivian would be in a position to make your life difficult...if they chose to.

And same for Tesla....if their Suoercharger has an issue particularly while you are connected thru an unapproved adapter..Tesla would also be in a position to male your life difficult.

High enough priority to run the complete social media package on the Tesla adapters and Tesla network being open to Rivian.

And selling vehicles is part of executive team responsibility so I would hope they have ability to understand how a lack of more transparent communication on this might have some negative impact on sales.

Ford still says my adapter is due to ship in June 2024...

No, I haven't gotten the Ford one yet, either.

Tesla is making the adapters, and seems to be keeping everyone in the dark about when they will arrive. Ford, Rivian, Ford owners, Rivian owners, all are annoyed at Tesla's lack of production and lack of communication. Ford and Rivian can't communicate what they don't know because they have no idea when the next batch of adapters will be sent by Tesla, or how many will be in that batch.

An occasional update like “please be patient, we are now shipping adapters for vehicle owners with shipment dates of XYZ” would not be too difficult.

You're assuming they don't have that expectation already. They most certainly do. The reason they're not sharing it is because it's Not Good news.

I had said thar earlier. Basically I believe they know and don't want to be bearer of bad news...unlike most that think they don't know when or how many are comming till they pop the box open that shows up.

That would require they be "now shipping adapters"….

Topic is a dead horse. Until you get email from Rivian to confirm your address... put it out of your mind. Rivian itself probably doesn't have any idea when and how many adapters will arrive from Tesla. The people who put the deal together were probably fired by Musk and not rehired.

Very true. Best policy is consider it a gift that may not ever actually happen and when it does it is like Christmas morning. Certainly figure if you are about to buy a new Rivian, if you want to access the Tesla charging network, it's either be prepared to wait, or go with an unapproved 3rd party adapter if comfortable with risk.
