We are in need of data points to better understand the "Low Voltage Battery Service" function in RiDE.

Please post here if you have "self-replaced" your 12v batteries.

Data needed:
  • Vehicle Information? (Year, R1 Gen 1, Single battery; R1 Gen 1 Dual Battery, etc)
  • Firmware Version at time of replacement? (2025.38, a best guess, etc)
  • Battery chosen (Ohmmu, AGM 12v, etc)
  • "Low Voltage Battery Service" RiDE button work for you to clear the "12v service" error?
If you haven't seen the following screen, I don't need information from you :)

From what i've heard, Rivian themselves have to clear the "12v service" warning with their shop diagnostic software... so i'm trying to understand what this in-vehicle RiDE button is supposed to do.

We know the LifePo4 Ohmmu batteries can trigger the battery service alert as of 2025.38.., however i'm assuming the "12v service" notification "goes away" and "comes back"? My dual battery R1T, the "12v service" warning never disappears when running the "Low Voltage Battery Service" routine.

Ohmmu's instructions suggested that you just needed to put it in drive and roll forward a bit, then back and it would clear. I tried rolling forward 27 miles and it didn't clear, and that was with a few runs of the Low Voltage Battery Service along the way. Ultimately, the winning formula for me was to hard-reset the vehicle, but I'm unsure if the service menu stuff contributed to success or not.

Total, from start to finish:
  1. Replaced the AGM 12V with the OHMMU Battery, confirmed current draw from battery using the OHMMU app
  2. Rolled backwards and forwards to attempt to clear 12V service error - didn't work
  3. Short drive around the block, about 1/2 mile - didn't work
  4. Soft-reset - didn't work
  5. Waited 2 hours, confirmed the error still present and drove to some errands
  6. Along the way, I stopped, entered service and attempted to run the 12V LV reset BMS. None of these attempts worked to clear the error
  7. Got back home and did a hard reset (Left button + Hazard) - after waiting for reboot, the error was cleared. All the vents were screwed-up, though - I lost position synchronization on all the vents and recirc/fresh air damper. Also had to reset/calibrate the Windows up & down.
  8. Next day, everything's back to normal and no apparent fallout
