Can’t even track my vehicles position anymore Edit: it was pointed out I just need to scroll down further and location is still there

I haven't had my vehicle in service yet, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Tesla's been doing this for a while. They likely don't want you messing with the car remotely, or using the app/camera feature to look at stuff (I know Rivian doesn't support this function yet).

At least in my case you can still scroll down and see the trucks location.

Just another feature they 'borrowed' from Tesla.

Well, I can tell you that without being able to track the vehicle, my experience with Rivian would've been interesting back in 2022. It was the only way I knew something was amiss on my first one, as they were taking it from one body shop to the next and had to call them out on it and tell me what was really going on with the vehicle.

I believe in Tesla's it's triggered by putting the vehicle into service mode. So maybe Rivian is doing this automatically now when the vehicle show up. I know that's what Tesla was doing. With my Tesla, as soon as I pulled up the service within a minute or two it put itself into service mode.

Yeah I noticed this while my truck was getting an alignment a couple days ago. What I don't like is either the service guys or the app disabled my motion cam, incident cam, drive cam and alarm.

You'd think they would turn things back on when they are done. I get their right to privacy and all that, but I would have hated to get in an incident on the way home with all the cameras turned off.

I'm perfectly OK with Rivian and other mfgs "borrowing" the "good" features from Tesla, I just want them to stay away from the bad ones.

First time back in service (only second service appointment) since this update. I wish I could still see the battery level though given that they've been notorious for letting cars drain...

And yes, a reminder to turn back on driver cam, etc. would be great. The first time I had to stop a block away after I left and turn it all back on.

Picked my car up today and realized the mileage shown during the In-Service period is not accurate. Immediately jumped 27 miles as soon as they turned off service mode. Just an FYI. At least the location still worked.

Also had a weird issue where I couldn't send directions to the car from my phone. The error stated that my car was still in service even though I was sitting in the car and service mode was off. In addition, my phone app showed all the functionality just fine.

Again, re: disarming all the driver cam / safety features, wish there was a reminder to turn them back on after service mode is turned off. I ended up driving down the street, popping a U-turn to park on the side of the road to turn everything back on. Noticed that there were ZERO recordings while the car was in-service even though I know they drove 13 miles to the collision center and another 13 back.

It then took me half the day to also realize my aftermarket driver cam was still unplugged.

I don't think the service screen in the app is all that new. What is new is how much they use it.

Previously when my vehicle was in for service, the app was only in service mode for the few hours they were actually in the vehicle working on it. More recently, it entered service mode about 5 minutes after I gave them the keys.

Yep. Why I stick an Apple tag in all my cars even if they have internal tracking.

So, I've taken my vehicle to a 3rd party authorized Rivian repair shop to fix a dent, and they have put it into 'Service Mode'. For some reason the vehicle now shows the mileage as "0 km". Weird. I don't like that the location uses the term 'last known location'..... It would be much more useful if there was a timestamp associated. Also, I understand the need for privacy of the service center, but this is MY vehicle, and if I choose to to have access to location, battery status, and the such, that should be my choice (not a service center's).
