Any ideas how I can get my iPod classic to play via the USB-C cord? It says connected on the device, but the RIV won’t recognize?

I don't think this is supported yet.

You'll currently need a Bluetooth transmitter that you can connect to your iPod and then sync the transmitter to the Rivian.

Unfortunately no wired connection playback is possible. Only bluetooth. Rivian’s infotainment roadmap neutered this for some reason while keeping wireless.

You apparently can’t connect iPods via Bluetooth. Even the last 7th generation. I was able to get my iPad Air 5th gen to pair. Too cumbersome to serve as a substitute.

I know enough tech to be fairly functional and understand most of what my CE son explains when asked, but I don’t understand why Rivian has limited Bluetooth functionality and the inability to connect via hardwire to usb ports. My 2013 Explorer paired and connected via usb to just about anything.

Perhaps someone here on the Forum might have some insight or information. Is it just policy or is there actually some technical hindrance?

Sorry - I had no idea you couldn't connect any Bluetooth transmitter to the Rivian. Can you transfer the music to your iPhone? If you have a iPod Classic then you're definitely an Apple user.

Rivian has severely limited BT connectivity to the infotainment center. Options are for the most part cell phone or FM transmitter (ie SXM radio) but the camp speaker does not appear to be so limited. My guess is part of their desire to control future revenue streams.

It's 2024, you're driving a $70-110K high tech toy and you still use an Ipod shuffle ?
