Yes, I wish I had 1’ less of wiring and a smaller more efficient battery pack and a dimming roof. But I have enjoyed a car for $20k less than current retail and I have slightly more usable space in the frunk and soon to be extinct 21” rims.
My only regret is not getting launch green with forest interior as they will be extinct soon enough.

The amount of progress in 2 years makes me optimistic for r2 and r3. I know nothing about technology but 1st gen should have been thrown a bone on changing interior lights.

But I agree the progress is great to see and looking forward to getting my hands on an r3.

For the price I paid as an OG order holder, and driving it for the past year, I'm more than satisfied with my G1. I'm laughing at all the buyers remorse comments and "Rivian should offer an upgrade to the G1 - they suck!" comments that are popping up. We all knew we bought a launch product that was a 2018 - 2021 design in terms of tech, It was known this upgrade was coming for a long time, and it's high tech on wheels that is going to be outdated quickly - just like a PC.

Don't get me wrong I love my 2022 LE R1T and have loved it for most of it's 58k miles. That said I don't love the risk of out of warranty repairs that I may face when the B2B warranty runs out

So that Oct-Nov time frame for a new Tri-Motor is looking like a good time to upgrade... Lets hope that's a real timeline.

I have yet to see a review that shows the new light bar with red Kitt / Cylon eye movement (have I dated myself?) that’s the feature I think might be worth trading up for… the rest? Nice work Rivian.. hope you sell a ton.. but refresh more than v2.

Hey, I got compass yellow, and it's still the best color. I got the old pricing, got a great deal, and these new SW announcements are basically telling me they won't take anything away that I use.

Yea, the gen2 has new stuff that I'd like, but I'd pick my R1S, at the price I paid, over this refresh.

I’ll be keeping my gen 1 for a long time, especially since it’s launch green. $68k after the tax credit was a steal, $40k less than what I’d configure now (tri motor).

The new updates look great, and it fixes some minor nitpick things I have with the vehicle.

But I also realize that I’d never buy another QM vehicle at current prices. I’d take a lower trim and lower feature vehicle for a lower price.

So maybe I should stop worrying about minor scratches and dings, and spend more time among rocks, dirt and sticks.
