So, we have had an R1S on order for nearly 2 years and it appears that we a re finally on our way to receiving it in the next 2 months. When we ordered the vehicle, we chose Limestone as the exterior color and on the configurator, it appeared to have a slight green tinge to it. Because of this, we chose the forest interior.

Seeing actual pictures reveal a more soft blue tint to the exterior.

This will be my wife's car, so colors matter. : )

Is this going to be a massive fashion faux pas?

Does anyone out there have actual experience with this combination?

The order was finalized a month ago, though we have yet to be contatcted by a representative.

We are in NC, so no chance to easily run up to a SC to view in person.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

There’s no blue in the Limestone. Your color combo is great! Also the Forest Edge interior is more subtle than it looks online…more like a grayish green (in a good way). Also, the FE interior has the best color wood accents!

We aren't exactly a family that likes green, but the wife's green R1S with white interior and black wheels looks great. Paint is beautiful.

I personally think Ocean Coast is the best and gives you the most airy feeling in the cabin.

I would go with Limestone on Ocean Coast.

Also from a resale perspective, Ocean Coast tends to be in more demand and holds value a little better.

I don't think any of the interiors clash with any of the exteriors. Safe to configure any combination you like. I agree with @Forest Edge, that the Green interior has the best wood, but I think overall Ocean Coast is a better fit for my design aesthetics. The lighter seats and headliner make it feel more open and spacious.

Also - I don't see any green or any blue in limestone. To my eye is it is very neutral.

We test drove a truck with the blue exterior, OC interior, and 22” brights. None of those three finishes individually appeal to me but they looked awesome together!

My interior is Forest Edge - I much prefer this to any other interior combination I've had in the past, it's very unique. I had an OC loaner (blue exterior) for a few weeks. FE is more warm and cozy and not overtly green. OC: I'd call it stark and cold in comparison.

Personal opinion of course- but you NEED to have her see this combo in person!!! There is blue in limestone in very direct sunlight. 98% of the time it is the best color by a mile. I could not pull the trigger on this combo after seeing it in person. 2 cents. But go see it!

Just my $0.02 ... FE wood is awesome but I'm not a fan the green interior .. I agree it does look different in person. I have an El Cap R1S with Black Mountain + Dark Ash Wood because of large dogs, grandkids and lots of driving on dirt roads. The dark interior handles the dirt and dog hair relatively well. The OC would have been a nightmare ... but the FE wood is really nice ...

Limestone looks awesome on cloudy days. I’m not a fan of it on bright blue sky days, it gets a blueish tint for sure. Go see all of the colors. They look different in person. Red would’ve been last on my list but is my second favorite after launch green (which I got thankfully).

I agree that now it's reasonably safe to configure any way you like because the "Vehicle Studio" doesn't allow FE with Red Canyon or Rivian Blue. I suspect Compass Yellow would have also been limited to OC or BM if it was still available.

We have a dog as well, who we take hiking and swimming often. We figured that would rule out the OC. Unfortunately, we have no easy way of seeing this combo in person. I do feel much better though hearing all of the above opinions. Thanks everyone for the replies.

If you're getting a Rivian, I think it makes little sense to blend into a sea of grays, whites, and blacks. Both the Rivian Blue and the Canyon Red are absolutely stunning in person.

I was going to go with limestone + FE on my R1T. Then I had a chance to see one at the service center. I love the interior, but it clashed just enough with limestone for me to nix the pairing. I went with OC which looks great. In person both interiors look different than on the Rivian website. OC has a subtle gray tone which looks great.

my two cents… if I was getting a R1S, it would forest green + FE. That color just hits me on the SUV.

good luck, you’ll love whatever you get. Awesome car!
