The metal dashboard grill on my new 2024 R1S started vibrating as soon as I drove it off the Rivian property in April. (I should have taken it back, obviously.). The noise was extremely irritating and would happen on any bump or dip on a road. Manually pushing it down would not work, so my temporary fix was to place a heavy tape measure on it, right next to the windshield. The noise stopped, but it did look a bit goofy.
Rivian Service said it was likely a bad clip and the first available appointment was in two months (yesterday). The visiting technician said that it's a common complaint and he replaced the entire metal grill that now has many built-in plastic clips. He also added some foam strips as a secondary precaution. The replacement took about 25 minutes and the issue has been resolved. Very professional home service, for sure.
