what’s your color config? I’m R1S with April/May window too (near Sacramento), no guide contact either, but anticipating the OC interior may push be behind those with Black.

I ordered a yellow, with black interior, 22” bright rims. This is for my wife. She is so excited that the LE trucks are getting delivered as we speak. Just saw 4 launch green trucks on a semi going west on 80 this afternoon from Sacramento area. It’s always good sign that Rivian is making good on their promise to deliver the trucks in spring. Hopefully a short 4-6 weeks more WAIT TIME for all us R1S‘s waiting.

Nothingburger update from CS chat today. Still "on track" for April/May delivery, guide contact starting in April but could take until Mid-May to reach out.

Same here. I was told to expect a guide "soon" today but that is the most precise they could get. My window is March/April...

Bummer ... reading this update, seeing people with orders as low as 1,800 and they haven't heard anything about their R1S delivery. I think my order # is 14,449, if I am looking at it correctly (I ordered on 8/11/19). Last I heard about delivery was on 11/23/2021, when they said my delivery would be June-July 2022. I"m in CA, config is R1S, Launch Edition, Forest Green, 22" Sport Bright wheels, OC interior. Guess I better reset my expectations to the fall.

I’m going to keep my positivity hat on and say we should see these R1Ss start rolling out mid to late May and see a flurry in June/July like we are seeing on the R1T now.

Hoping the guy that did the drone over the plant can do a couple of updated videos between now and then just for fun.

Just like buying a lottery ticket, you can dream as long as the time has not come. ?

I think they want to make a significant dent in R1T LE orders and then we'll see batches of R1S.

It's likely much less efficient for them right now to swap back and forth, the few R1S' we've seen were likely for VIPs they couldn't keep waiting and/or test cars.

I think it'll be more like June or July when we see them swap over to R1S orders.

This all makes sense... I'm going to be pretty grumpy if they know they aren't hitting my delivery window and they are just not willing to say it though.

I agree and I think the delivery window poll on this forum supports that.

what does your heart tell you?

my gut, and memory, tells me they dont say anything about delays until after the the window is over or a customers asks them and they get told.

you'd think they would release more details (manual, pictures, specs) about the R1S before starting deliveries to non-employee customers. which could mean a few things.

a. they are not going to hit the march/april windows, because logically it doesn't make sense to deliver vehicles that owners don't know the details about. unless they assume were so desperate we will take them regardless
b. they decided they don't need to spend time delivering them to employees first to "work out the kinks" like they did for the R1T. which means us R1S owners could get a less tested product. i know... they are similar enough vehicles that it may not matter but they are still different.
c. they don't think R1S customers care that we don't get a first mile event, get to see the colors on the vehicles, test drive, etc. i dont know how most of you feel, but i do care and i think that's pretty poor customer service to put R1S owners as second class.

I think everything In front of the rear seats is about the same as the R1T.

I would take my R1S tomorrow if they want to drop it off. I don’t think the shorter wheelbase is that much different in how it will ride and handle. I’ve seen pictures of the cargo area it looks fine to me.

A. There aren't many March/April window R1S, but I agree these will likely slip into May. I would take mine yesterday but I'm an April/May window.
B. It's well-established there is no employee program for R1S. I don't think it will be a big deal due to the commonality with R1T.
C. I would be perfectly happy attending a R1T-specific event. There will likely not be anything specific for R1S for a few months (after deliveries begin), and I'm sure they would have no problem delaying delivery if someone feels the need to wait and see the R1S in person before committing to it.

We know they aren't mass-producing R1S yet, so it should come as no surprise that no one has guide contacts yet. There were plenty of signs R1T was ramping up before those contacts began, and we should see similar activity as a precursor to R1S contacts.
