I had read of other Rivian owners getting their original powered tonneau cover replaced by the updated V1.1 (my own name, NOT the brand new V2). In some instances, the replacement was done under warranty even when the cover was still working.
I got an HVAC plug replacement email from Rivian, so I decided to schedule the service and request the powered tonneau cover replacement. I told them over the phone that it was working but that I had read that Rivian was replacing these under warranty as they are prone to failure.
Now that they have it in service, they are reneging on that offer because it is working.
"Why are you making this post?" I'm sure you're wondering. I'm looking for other owners' experiences with the tonneau cover replacement process. Was yours working before the replacement? Do you have any communications from Rivian that you wouldn't mind sharing with me to use as evidence to present to this service center that the replacement should be performed?
Thanks for reading.
