R1T topper shell by Wakeshield

I do appreciate innovation and they are putting in the time & work which will help the community grow. I have the utmost respect for hard working people and appreciate their efforts regardless if it suits me or not. Hopefully they thrive and develop some more products which will go more mainstream and fill the void for people looking for an efficient more conventional topper approach. There are a few options out and from what I have seen theirs is the only one which can help increase efficiency, so kudos to them for that. Looks is one of those things which is strictly in the eye of the beholder and I am guessing if there is a color match option it will make it more appealing to many.

One option is to cover the topper with a vinyl wrap. It looks like it would be a fairly easy DIY project.

FYI - it isn't about hurting anyone's feelings. It just isn't constructive to make posts that tear down what someone has obviously worked very hard to create. That is why I suggested that people who don't like it, just ignore it instead of making negative comments. Suggesting a way to improve it, like color options, is constructive feedback IMO.

Anyway, if I go through with my planned purchase of the R1 Tri Max, this topper is on the top of my list to add. It has been made by top people, obviously.

I’ll be vinyl wrapping my truck to match my truck’s vinyl wrap, so I’ll be sure to post before-and-after photos here so others can see the transformation.

I was so impressed with the design, look, and ingenuity of their product, along with how quickly they responded, that I decided to order one. My reason for purchasing it is that my R1T doesn’t come with the power tonneau cover from the factory because they had issues with it in the early days. I did buy the manual Rivian cover, which looks nice, but it’s not convenient for me to take sections out and wrap them carefully in the case.

Their solution is a quick and easy install that provides the necessary height for hauling and also serves as a protective cover for the bed. It looks amazing and will definitely make my truck stand out with an even more futuristic look. Kudos to them for taking the time to be creative and functional.

Thanks to their attention to detail, the product arrived safely from Estes Trucking and looks incredible. The build quality is exceptional, and the fit is perfect. This product is so functional that I’ve finally gotten rid of my manual Rivian factory tonneau cover. I highly recommend it to everyone. Here are some pictures for you to check out.

I also want to mention that the customer service is immediate and superb. Well worth the money and now this R1T looks out of this world with hauling versatility.

Thank you so much! Now that I’ve had time to live and use the Wakeshield, I’ve realized how much I was missing out on by simply having a plain old open bed or a restrictive manual cover. I no longer desire the factory power tonneau cover. Having this so handy makes my truck versatile for me again. Great job, guys!

Have you tried to fit a bike in the bed with the cover closed? Seems like some bikes will fit, and some may need to hang out the back.

I haven't tested its capacity with large items yet, but I'm optimistic. Given my measurements, I believe it can accommodate pinball machines on a dolly. I've started utilizing the entire cargo space in the tailgate now, which I never did before. The Wakeshield has given my R1T a new lease on life.

I've original had been contemplating a custom topper, something substantial and boxy, akin to the R1S design. From the back, this Wakeshield resembles a supercar with the recessed vents for the brake lights. The time and effort invested in 3D modeling and testing are evident. The clearances are precise to the millimeter, a testament to the attention to detail. Even the lid has storage space and provisions for securing items.
