My car is in Atlanta service center due to a warning popped up on the dashboard. The service center guy initially said that it's normal and restarting the system usually fixes. It did fix when it happened, but I didn't want to take a chance, so I made an appointment and took it to the shop.
After 2 days being in the service, I was hoping to pick up the car today. The service manager calls me today and said they spotted the liquid under the area, and they can't honor the warranty, and it has to be out of my pocket......
I bought this car used, so I didn't know if the previous owner did or what.. So I told him sure.. if it's my fault, then I will pay for it.
I called my wife and asked if she ever spilled any liquid. and she told me that she dropped a little bit of coke few weeks ago, but she cleaned it asap.
She spilled the coke right in the area in the middle where you put stuffs.. (between driver and passenger). There is actually a tray there too...
I didn't give much thought, but she asked me.... if spilling this much liquid actually voids the warranty for EV???????
We spilled coffee, coke, and etc in the many different cars in the past, and they didn't cause any damage.
Plus, this happened over 4 weeks ago.. Why is it the root cause of the issue that they can't honor the warranty?
I tried to contact the service manager to discuss, but obviously, I don't have his direct number, and I can't get him on the phone after 1+ hours of attempt...
I need to go pick up the car today, and I have to pay $1650 + tax...
Is this normal???????????????
