I am not a fan of the R3 or R3X, but I would buy it any day of the week over the CT. That is outright ugly.

To me, the R3 is too reminiscent of the '1970s Chevy Chevette.

Most successful car companies have viable products for a variety of people.

Not an infinite variety, but enough variety.

If Rivian doesn't make SOME models I dislike, it's probably not diversifying its product line enough.

Best to all!

I love the R1T, R1S, and R2, but in my view, R3 is hideous. But if it is successful, I am all for it.
I agree....I don't like the looks of it at all. But as an investor in the company, I hope other people like it and buy tons of them. I think it will only appeal to people who like the whole "hot hatch" type vehicles because that's what it looks like to me.

It's kind of funny how people seemingly get insulted when someone shares an opinion they perceive as negative. But the truth of the matter is that plenty of people have different opinions and that's just fine. No sense it getting upset about it.

If it makes anyone feel better, if I had a gun to my head and was told to choose one, I'd take the R3 over a Cyber Truck, but only because the Cyber truck has to be the ugliest thing on four wheels for any vehicle you can buy today.

My wife felt the same way. Marriage is a compromise, don't have to agree on everything...

I don't necessarily love the look of the R3, or any of the Rivians, but I don't hate them either. I love what they do, and I see function over form as a design priority, and I very much respect that.

I recently went on a camping trip in my Bolt, the first of the season. And I forgot my headlamp, it was in my other pack. I told myself - if only I already had a Rivian . . .

My wife put down a deposit on the Cybertruck when it was revealed.

Honestly I’m kind of amazed we’re still married at this point.

For me, R3 hits the perfect sweet spot of “modern Rivian-looking” and “retro styling reminiscent of my first car.”
